Wife of the King of Egypt fell in love of Joseph

Surah Yuusuf (Joseph) - 12

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim. 
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast.)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.
(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful.)

Wife of the King of Egypt fell in love of Joseph (peace be upon him). Holy Qur’an has finished her love story in only three small sentences, as it will be discussed in preceding lessons. But our story writers have narrated such attractive story of love and beauty that a person flows in the wave of passions. Holy Qur’an does not do so. It finishes most ardent passions within only two or three sentences.

It manifests from choosing this way of describing that Holy Qur’an does not desire to excite the feelings of lewdness by using any florid style in passions. However, it exists in the Sayings of the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) and in the words of venerable people clearly that any mankind should never try to raise up passions of any individual, by his any act, talk or walk. If he describes any occurrence, event or happening, by which passions may be roused, then he should describe briefly and usually; by means of hints. Even then, he should disclose also immediately its hurtful consequences, so that the hearer begin to think about its injurious results by repelling his attention from the news.

We have to say here with woe that nowadays, our story-tellers do not keep any cause before them but to raise up false passions by their writings. The only work of our poetry is to excite the feelings of love. Our prose writers devise such stories which stir desire, greediness, wickedness and cheating, even they narrate about nakedness and bawdy also. Drama, cinema, naked dance, photography, and singing etc., in short, every thing is for a purpose that it should raise up human passions. These entire matters are against the instructions of Holy Qur’an. It considers that exciting the passions is deadly poison for human beings. Despite all of above, It presents such pure passions for the mankind, by which he may get deliverance from stenches of life; being purified from entire evil deeds.

On the other side, a group spent its power of pen for describing distresses of others. They consider their perfection in it that they cause to weep the people by explaining about such incidents; in which good people were oppressed by the wicked.

It is clear from the way of describing by Holy Qur’an that neither It teaches “causing to weep the people by mentioning calamities of the world, and establishing assemblies of mourning”, and nor It desires to incline the people to lewdness by exciting light passions. Those people who are engaged in these matters, they should think for a while that “what have they been doing?”
