Introduction - Chapter “SHUURAA” - (COUNSEL) – 42 (L-2932)

In terms of the order of the Qur'an, this is forty second Chapter, which was sent during the middle times of stay at Makkah. Name of this Chapter is Shuuraa (Counsel), which is the third Chapter of those which begin from the words “Haa-Miiim”. It contains five Sections. The mankind has been warned in it after drawing attention towards the Supreme Epithets of God Almighty: Do neither be heedless from Him and nor be arrogant in His Dignity. Disbelievers of God Almighty are not hidden from Him. He hears and knows their entire matters. The people do such acts that they can be overwhelmed with trouble without any further delay, but the Angels (Peace be upon them) praise and glorify God Almighty every time, and they supplicate for forgiveness of the Believers. It is the reason that the world is still firm. And respite is being given to the disbelievers up to a prescribed time; otherwise it would have been finished very earlier.

O Messenger (ﷺ): Bringing them to right path by force is not included in your duties. We have sent down this Qur‘an for reciting it before the people of Makkah and those entire mankind who dwell around it in the entire world, and warn them: Behold! The Day of Resurrection is near to come. All human beings will be gathered on that Day and their deeds will be reckoned. Some people will enter in the Paradise and some will be driven into the Hell by the misfortune of their wrong deeds.

Say: We could make all human beings one nation, but We desired to test them. Successful people must be admitted in Our Mercy and the failed must be punished. Remember! Rebels will not find any helper or recommendatory. Giving death and life is very easy for God Almighty. He has Divine Power to do all things. Say to the people! God Almighty is Alone in His Perfection. There is none equal of Him. Everything is in His control. He has made one Religion for all human beings and entire Prophets (Peace be upon them) preached for the same. Do not sow dissension in it! O Messenger (ﷺ): Invite all people towards the same Religion, and establish an example for them by acting upon its Instructions yourself. Doom of God Almighty is ready for them who deny after it. Holy Qur’an is a Touchstone. You can examine your deeds according to its Commandments and know the right and the wrong. Say to them! That will earn some wealth in the world who will be seeker of it, but in the Hereafter; he will be empty handed. Say! Don’t trouble me, and convey the Message of God Almighty to entire people of the world. You must think that I have some relationship with you. This Message is good for all.

After that, it has been described to the Muslims: Islam is the best way of life for success in the both Worlds.

What can we learn from this Chapter?

 

What can we learn from this Chapter? (L-2931)

This Qur’an is sent by That Creator Who fulfils every desire and every necessity of every creature. There was a need of mankind’s guidance, because if he had been left on his will, then he would have been dropped only behind his desires and Satan would have deceived him at every step. In this Holy Book, making difference between good and bad works has been caused him very clearly to understand. There are good tidings as well as warning too in it. Those people will reap advantage from it who have knowledge. But alas! Most of the people slip away from its commandments. And when they are said: Come, listen to recitation of Qur’an and understand what it says, then they say as its answer: Our ears do not hear its voice. You have separated yourselves totally from us after having belief in its Commandments. Go away and mind your own business! We shall do the same what we did in the Past. Why should we choose a new way leaving that which we have been doing since long?

For replying to them, it was commanded to the Messenger (ﷺ): Say! I am not separate from you but a man like you. He has described to me Who created you that your God is One (Allaah). Turn to Him only and ask Him for forgiveness of your sins, errors and omissions. Now if any person will adore any other than Him then it will not be good for him. Such people have been deceived by the Devil. They do not pay the poor-due and alms to poor and needy people, and deny the Day of Resurrection. The good will only be for them who will believe in God Almighty and do good works. Good reward will be given to them as retribution which will never go to an end.

Why do you not believe in Allaah (God)? He created the earth and the heavens, and decorated the nearest heaven (sky) with stars. Creator of all such things is the Mighty, the Knower of all things. Remember! If you did not believe in Him! You will also be punished like them who were punished before you. Various kinds of disasters, earthquakes, storms and thunderclaps etc. came upon them who did not care concerning His Commandments and stood firm on their obstinacy. So they were ruined. They disobeyed their Prophets (Peace be upon them) and were proud of their strength. They did not understand that God Almighty is more Powerful than them.

Bear it in mind! Your hands and feet will give evidence against yourselves that you committed evil deeds by them. So denying by you will be useless for you. You can conciliate God Almighty in this world if you wish. You will not have any chance for this purpose in the Hereafter. Angels (Peace be upon them) are supporters of believers in both Worlds. Therefore, you must believe, correct your morality, behave softly with evildoers and forgive their mistakes. Without it, living together in the world is difficult. Remember! Manners cannot be correct without effort. Satan has been lying behind you in ambush. Seek refuge in God Almighty from him. Remember Him every time. If you did not act upon Qur’-an’s guidance, you would have to repent Tomorrow. Its entire Revelations are quite true.

The Truth will not remain hidden (L-2930)

سَنُرِيهِمْ ءَايَٰتِنَا فِى ٱلْءَافَاقِ وَفِىٓ أَنفُسِهِمْ حَتَّىٰ يَتَبَيَّنَ لَهُمْ أَنَّهُ ٱلْحَقُّ أَوَلَمْ يَكْفِ بِرَبِّكَ أَنَّهُۥ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ شَهِيدٌ 53  أَلَآ إِنَّهُمْ فِى مِرْيَةٍ مِّن لِّقَآءِ رَبِّهِمْ أَلَآ إِنَّهُۥ بِكُلِّ شَىْءٍ مُّحِيطٌۢ 54

53.  Sa-Nuriihim  ‘AayaatiNaa  fil-’aafaaqi  wa  fiii  ‘anfusihim  hattaa  yatabayyana  lahum  ‘anna-hul-Haqq.  ‘Awa-  lam  yakfi  bi-Rabbika  ‘annaHuu  ‘alaa  kulli  shay-‘in  Shahiid. 54.  ‘Alaaa  ‘innahum  fii  miryatim-mil-Liqaaa-‘i  Rabbihim.  ‘Alaaa  ‘innaHuu  bi-kulli  shay-‘im-Muhiit. (Section – 6/1)

53. We will show them Our proofs on the horizons, and in their very souls, until it becomes clear to them that it is the truth. Is it not sufficient that your Lord is witness over everything? 54. Surely they are in doubt about the encounter with their Lord. Surely He comprehends everything.

It was commanded in the previous verses: The mankind turns away from God Almighty during good days, disbelieves in Him and becomes ingrate. When he is entangled in any misfortune and becomes helpless, then being impatient he begins to call upon God Almighty. Such behavior is not good. One must understand Holy Qur’an and choose the way towards which it guides. Then it was commanded: You should believe in Holy Qur’an considering that the disbelievers will be punished very severely if it is correct.

After that, in these verses it is commanded: That is all right which Holy Qur’an says. Those, who believed in its truth as soon as they heard, they are very intelligent. Otherwise its truth will appear with the passage of time in forthcoming occurrences. Moreover, those entire incidents will happen (which have been mentioned in it) upon them who disbelieve. Then they will repent and perspire with shame. It is astonishing that these people do not consider the evidence of God Almighty sufficient on its Truth, whereas He is Aware of everything’s reality and knows everyone’s entire circumstances. The fact is it that they are in deception that they would not have to be present before Him. O people! Remember it that everything has been encompassed in the Omnipotence of God Almighty. Unique Way

 

Unique Way (L-2929)

وَإِذَآ أَنْعَمْنَا عَلَى ٱلْإِنسَٰنِ أَعْرَضَ وَنَـَٔا بِجَانِبِهِۦ وَإِذَا مَسَّهُ ٱلشَّرُّ فَذُو دُعَآءٍ عَرِيضٍ 51  قُلْ أَرَءَيْتُمْ إِن كَانَ مِنْ عِندِ ٱللَّهِ ثُمَّ كَفَرْتُم بِهِۦ مَنْ أَضَلُّ مِمَّنْ هُوَ فِى شِقَاقٍۭ بَعِيدٍ 52

51.  Wa  ‘izaaa  ‘an-‘amNaa  ‘alal-‘insaani  ‘a’-raza  wa  na-‘aa  bi-jaanibih.  Wa  ‘izaa  massahush-sharru  fazuu  du-‘aaa-‘in  ‘ariiz.  52.  Qul  ‘ara-‘aytum  ‘in  kaana  min  ‘inDillaahi  summa  kafartum  bihiii  man  ‘azallu  mim-man  huwa  fii  shiqaaqim-  ba-‘iid.

51. When We provide comfort for the human being, he withdraws and distances himself; but when adversity befalls him, he starts lengthy prayers. 52. Say, “Have you considered? If it is from God and you reject it—who is further astray than he who is cutoff and alienated?”

 It is commanded: State of mankind is very strange. When We bestow Our blessings to him and he becomes prosperous and rich, then he turns away, distances himself, does not care Our Commandments and commits wrong; considering that God Almighty has not been observing his acts, and his deeds are not being recorded. But when evil touches him, then he starts lengthy prayers before God Almighty and asks from the righteous slaves of God Almighty: Tell me any such daily worship; if you know; by which I may get rid of this affliction. Sometimes he counts the beads and sometimes prays by spreading his hands for a long time. He does not remember at that time that he used to turn away from worshipping places (Masaajid) when he was prosperous, but used to deride them openly who were busy in remembrance of God Almighty, offering prayers and fasting. How he has been calling upon Him today? The aim of describing this all is that it is not right. One must never forget God Almighty in any condition; particularly in prosperity, but obey His entire Commandments happily, offer prayers timely, help the poor and the needy wholeheartedly, have patience in calamity, trust in God Almighty and be hopeful of His mercy.

 After that it is commanded: Have you ever considered: If the Qur`an is really from God for the guidance of the mankind as it in fact is, then what the punishment will be given to its deniers and those who disbelieve in its Commandments? Can someone be more astray than him who is in extreme dissension from it and disobeys openly?

Strange habit (L-2928)

لَّا يَسْـَٔمُ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ مِن دُعَآءِ ٱلْخَيْرِ وَإِن مَّسَّهُ ٱلشَّرُّ فَيَـُٔوسٌ قَنُوطٌ 49  وَلَئِنْ أَذَقْنَٰهُ رَحْمَةً مِّنَّا مِنۢ بَعْدِ ضَرَّآءَ مَسَّتْهُ لَيَقُولَنَّ هَٰذَا لِى وَمَآ أَظُنُّ ٱلسَّاعَةَ قَآئِمَةً وَلَئِن رُّجِعْتُ إِلَىٰ رَبِّىٓ إِنَّ لِى عِندَهُۥ لَلْحُسْنَىٰ فَلَنُنَبِّئَنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ بِمَا عَمِلُوا۟ وَلَنُذِيقَنَّهُم مِّنْ عَذَابٍ غَلِيظٍ 50

49.  Laa  yas-‘amul-  ‘insaanu  min  du-‘aail-khayri  wa  ‘immas-sa-hush-sharru  fa-ya-‘uusun  qanuut. 50.  Wa  la-‘in  ‘azaqNaahu  Rahmatam-minNaa  mim-  ba’-di  zarraaa-‘a  massat-hu  layaquu-lanna  haazaa  lii,  wa  maaa  ‘azun-nus-Saa-‘ata  qaaa-‘imatanw-wa  la-‘ir-ruji’-tu  ‘ilaa  Rabbiii  ‘inna  lii  ‘indahuu  lal-husnaa.  FalaNu-nabbi-‘annal-laziina  kafaruu  bimaa  ‘amiluu,  wa  lanuziiqannahum-min  ‘Azaabin  galiiz.

49. The human being never tires of praying for good things; but when adversity afflicts him, he despairs and loses hope. 50. And when We let him taste a mercy from Us, after the adversity that had afflicted him, he will say, “This is mine, and I do not think that the Hour is coming; and even if I am returned to my Lord, I will have the very best with Him.” We will inform those who disbelieve of what they did, and We will make them taste an awful punishment.

It is commanded: The mankind seeks luxury and physical fitness, and does never get tired. If any time he gets some distress; then becomes hopeless. He does not trust in God Almighty but considers that only apparent reasons are everything.

It is commanded: If We let him taste mercy from Us after an adversity which has touched him, then he says: "This is due to me, which I had to acquire. I do not think that the Day of Resurrection will occur. Suppose if it came and I returned to my Lord, indeed, for me there will be with Him the best. It is commanded: That’s not it. Those who disbelieve in Us in the world, We will surely inform them on the Day of Resurrection about what they did during their worldly life. And it will be result of their carelessness that We will surely make them taste a massive punishment of their wicked deeds.

These are very clear Commandments. Every individual must meditate into them and obey His entire Orders. The disobedient and ignorant people will have no space in the Hereafter except the Hell.  https://youtu.be/hslXDB3v-uk

Circumstances of the Judgment Day (L-2927)

إِلَيْهِ يُرَدُّ عِلْمُ ٱلسَّاعَةِ وَمَا تَخْرُجُ مِن ثَمَرَٰتٍ مِّنْ أَكْمَامِهَا وَمَا تَحْمِلُ مِنْ أُنثَىٰ وَلَا تَضَعُ إِلَّا بِعِلْمِهِۦ وَيَوْمَ يُنَادِيهِمْ أَيْنَ شُرَكَآءِى قَالُوٓا۟ ءَاذَنَّٰكَ مَا مِنَّا مِن شَهِيدٍ 47   وَضَلَّ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يَدْعُونَ مِن قَبْلُ وَظَنُّوا۟ مَا لَهُم مِّن مَّحِيصٍ 48

47.  ‘ILAYHI  YURADDU  ‘’ilmus-Saa-‘ah.  Wa  maa  takhruju  min-  samaraatim-min  ‘akmaamihaa  wa  maa  tahmilu  min-  ‘unsaa  wa  laa  taza-‘u  ‘illaa  bi-‘ilmih.  Wa  Yawma  yunaa-diihim  ‘ayna  shurakaaa-‘ii,  qaaluuu  ‘aazannaaka  maa  minnaa  min-  shahiid. 48.  Wa  zalla  ‘an-hum-maa  kaanuu  yad-‘uuna  min-  qablu  wa  zannuu  maa  lahum-mim-mahiis.

47. To Him is referred the knowledge of the Hour. No fruit emerges from its sheath, and no female conceives or delivers, except with His knowledge. And on the Day when He calls out to them, “Where are My associates?” They will say, “We admit to you, none of us is a witness.” 48. What they used to pray to before will forsake them, and they will realize that they have no escape.

When it was said to the people of Makkah: A Day (of Resurrection) will come soon when you all will be brought back to life again after death and every individual’s entire deeds will be reckoned. Then they said: When the Day of Resurrection will come?

They have been replied in this verse: Believe in the Commands of Holy Qur’an that surely the Day of Resurrection will come. But no one knows except God Almighty that when will it come. Many are such things which are unknown for the mankind but God Almighty is Aware of them and when the time comes; those appear and happen. Then every person comes to know, for example, coming out of fruits from clusters, none can determine exact time of the birth of the baby with certainty that when it will be born from the belly of its mother; it can only be guessed or known by the opinion of experts. So know concerning the Day of Resurrection like this from the Commandments mentioned in Holy Qur’an and believe that when such Day will come, God Almighty will command: Where are My `partners? The idolaters will say: We announce to You that there is no one among us to admit that we were idolaters. They will look here and there but their no ascribed partner will be visible to them. So they will deny by their tongues, but their hearts will come to know that “Today (the Day of Judgment)” they have no place of escape. https://youtu.be/O3S1gbLEApU
