Another Sign (L-3179)

لَوْ نَشَآءُ جَعَلْنَٰهُ أُجَاجًا فَلَوْلَا تَشْكُرُونَ 70  أَفَرَءَيْتُمُ ٱلنَّارَ ٱلَّتِى تُورُونَ 71  ءَأَنتُمْ أَنشَأْتُمْ شَجَرَتَهَآ أَمْ نَحْنُ ٱلْمُنشِـُٔونَ  72  نَحْنُ جَعَلْنَٰهَا تَذْكِرَةً وَمَتَٰعًا لِّلْمُقْوِينَ 73  فَسَبِّحْ بِٱسْمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلْعَظِيمِ  74 فَلَآ أُقْسِمُ بِمَوَٰقِعِ ٱلنُّجُومِ  75  وَإِنَّهُۥ لَقَسَمٌ لَّوْ تَعْلَمُونَ عَظِيمٌ 76

70.  Law  Nashaaa-'u  ja-'alNaahu  ‘ujaajan  falaw- laa  tash-kuruun. 71.  ‘Afara-'ay-tumun-naaral-latii  tuuruun. 72.  'A-‘antum  ‘ansha’-tum  shajara-tahaaa  ‘am  Nahnul-Munshi-'uun. 73.  Nahnu  ja-'alNaahaa  tazkira-tanw-wa  mataa='al-lil-muqwiin. 74.  Fasabbih  bismi- Rabbikal- 'Aziim. (Part 3-4th) (Section 2/15) 75.  Falaa  ‘uqsimu  bimawaa-qi-'in-nujuum. 76.  Wa  ‘innahuu  laqasamul-law  ta'-lamuuna  'aziim.

70. If We willed We verily could make it bitter. Why then, give you not thanks? 71. Have you observed the fire which you strike out; 72. Was it you who made the tree thereof to grow, or were We the grower? 73. We, even We, appointed it a memorial and a comfort for the dwellers in the wilderness. 74. Therefor (O Muhammad), praise the name of your Lord, the Tremendous. 75. Nay, I swear by the places of the stars - 76. And lo! that verily is a tremendous oath, if you but knew -

It is commanded: What would have been happened if We had made the entire water bitter? You must be grateful that We made the water sweat.

After that it is commanded: Have you seen the fire that you ignite by rubbing wood? Flint was made of a particular tree in Arab. Did you produce that tree or We? It is apparent that We produced it and facilitated to produce fire for those who used to go and live in jungles and deserts. So you must exalt the name of Allaah, your Lord and the Most Great.

Then the attention is drawn to another great blessing, that is Holy Qur’an, which rises (its verses are sent down from time to time depending on the occasion and location) like stars; which rise at their times.

أَفَرَءَيْتُم مَّا تَحْرُثُونَ 63  ءَأَنتُمْ تَزْرَعُونَهُۥٓ أَمْ نَحْنُ ٱلزَّٰرِعُونَ 64  لَوْ نَشَآءُ لَجَعَلْنَٰهُ حُطَٰمًا فَظَلْتُمْ تَفَكَّهُونَ 65  إِنَّا لَمُغْرَمُونَ 66  بَلْ نَحْنُ مَحْرُومُونَ 67  أَفَرَءَيْتُمُ ٱلْمَآءَ ٱلَّذِى تَشْرَبُونَ 68  ءَأَنتُمْ أَنزَلْتُمُوهُ مِنَ ٱلْمُزْنِ أَمْ نَحْنُ ٱلْمُنزِلُونَ 69

63.  ‘Afara-'aytum- maa  tahrusuun. 64.  'A-‘antum  tazra-'uunahuuu  ‘am  Nahnuz-Zaari-'uun. 65.  Law  Nashaaa-'u  laja-'alNaahu  hutaaman  fa-zal-tum  tafakkahuun. 66.  ‘Innaa  lamugramuun. 67.  Bal  nahnu  mahruumuun. 68.  ‘Afara-'ay-tumul-maaa-'allazii  tashrabuun. 69.  'A-‘antum  ‘anzaltumuuhu  minal- muzni  ‘am Nahnul-Munziluun.

63. Have you seen that which you cultivate? 64. Is it you who foster it, or are We the Fosterer? 65. If We willed, We verily could make it chaff, then would you cease not to exclaim: 66. Lo! we are laden with debt! 67. Nay, but we are deprived! 68. Have you observed the water which you drink? 69. Is it you who shed it from the raincloud, or are We the Shedder?

At first the attention was drawn to it that the Creator of the mankind is Allaah Almighty. In the beginning, He made a man from the earth and made him stand, then He determined the intercourse of man and woman as the source of human birth. In both forms, The Creator is the same One Allaah.

Now the attention is being drawn: We also created the things to sustain your life in the world, for example, producing grains etc. from the earth. In it too, your work is to sow the seed in the land only. After that neither you do something and nor can do. The seed sprouts, buds and blossoms from the land by Our Command and Divine Power. If We desire, nothing will grow or fall off after withering and be ruined after being broken into pieces and you stare in amazement and begin to say: Alas! Our hard work of sowing and tilling wasted, we are now in debt; rather, we have been deprived. Did you see? As the child is born by the Will of Allaah Almighty, otherwise nothing can be born, like this; the grains also grow by His Command. Behold now towards another necessary thing i.e. the water which you drink! Is It We Who brought it down from the clouds or you?

Portents of the Omnipotent (L-3177)

نَحْنُ خَلَقْنَٰكُمْ فَلَوْلَا تُصَدِّقُونَ 57  أَفَرَءَيْتُم مَّا تُمْنُونَ 58  ءَأَنتُمْ تَخْلُقُونَهُۥٓ أَمْ نَحْنُ ٱلْخَٰلِقُونَ 59  نَحْنُ قَدَّرْنَا بَيْنَكُمُ ٱلْمَوْتَ وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَسْبُوقِينَ 60  عَلَىٰٓ أَن نُّبَدِّلَ أَمْثَٰلَكُمْ وَنُنشِئَكُمْ فِى مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ 61  وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْتُمُ ٱلنَّشْأَةَ ٱلْأُولَىٰ فَلَوْلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ 62

57.  Nahnu  khalaqNaakum  falaw- laa  tusaddiquun. 58.  Afara-'ay-tum- maa  tumnuun. 59.  'A-‘antum  takhluquu-nahuuu  ‘am  Nahnul-Khaaliquun. 60.  Nahnu  qaddarNaa  bayna-kumul-Mawta  wa  maa  Nahnu  bimas-buuqiina. 61.  'Alaaa  ‘an-Nubaddila  ‘Amsaa-lakum  wa  nunshi-'akum  fii  maa  laa  ta'-lamuun. 62.  Wa  laqad  'alimtumun-nash-‘atal –‘uulaa  falaw-laa  tazakkaruun.

57. We created you. Will you then admit the truth? 58. Have you seen that which you emit? 59. Do you create it or are We the Creator? 60. We mete out death among you, and We are not to be outrun, 61. That We may transfigure you and make you what you know not. 62. And verily you know the first creation. Why, then, do you not reflect?

It is commanded: Behold the Signs of Our Divine Power and believe in Us. We have created you. Did you ever think that you separate after emitting semen drop in womb? Who then makes a child from it in mother’s womb? It is obvious that We make it by Our Omnipotence. You are unable to interfere in this matter. We produced you and We determined death for you. We are not helpless in it that We carry you away from Here and people any other creature to replace you.

After that it is commanded: You know and it has been informed to you that We created you first time. Now why do you not understand from it that as We created you first time, We can reproduce you again after death in the same form. Use your sense and guess concerning unknown matters from the known matters, then coming back to life again after death will neither remain surprising for you and nor you will deny. In short, Know Allaah Almighty after observing the Portents of His Divine Power, and believe that you will be brought back to life again after death.

Answer of the objection (L-3176)

قُلْ إِنَّ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ وَٱلْءَاخِرِينَ 49  لَمَجْمُوعُونَ إِلَىٰ مِيقَٰتِ يَوْمٍ مَّعْلُومٍ 50  ثُمَّ إِنَّكُمْ أَيُّهَا ٱلضَّآلُّونَ ٱلْمُكَذِّبُونَ 51  لَءَاكِلُونَ مِن شَجَرٍ مِّن زَقُّومٍ 52  فَمَالِـُٔونَ مِنْهَا ٱلْبُطُونَ 53  فَشَٰرِبُونَ عَلَيْهِ مِنَ ٱلْحَمِيمِ 54  فَشَٰرِبُونَ شُرْبَ ٱلْهِيمِ 55  هَٰذَا نُزُلُهُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلدِّينِ 56

49.  Qul  ‘innal-‘awwaliina  wal-‘aakhiriin. 50.  Lamaj-muu-'uuna,  ‘ilaa  miiqaati  Yawmim-ma'-luum. 51.  Summa  ‘innakum  ‘ayyuhaz-zaaalluunal-mukazzibuun. 52.  La-‘aakiluuna  min-  Shaja-rim-min-Zaqquum. 53.  Famaali-'uuna  minhal-butuun. 54.  Fa-shaaribuuna  'alayhi  minal-Hamiim. 55.  Fa-shaaribuuna  shurbal-hiim. 56.  Haazaa  nuzuluhum  Yawmad-Diin.

49. Say (unto them, O Muhammad): Lo! those of old and those of later time 50. Will all be brought together to the tryst of an appointed day. 51. Then lo! you, the erring, the deniers, 52. You verily will eat of a tree called Zaqqum 53. And will fill your bellies therewith; 54. And thereon you will drink of boiling water, 55. Drinking even as the camel drinks. 56. This will be their welcome on the Day of Judgement.

It is commanded: Say {O Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him)} to all such people who deny - the Day of Resurrection and coming back to life again after death on that Day:  Indeed, all the former and the later peoples who died or will die, will be reproduced and gathered together for the appointment of a known Day. The entire human beings are included among them whether they were believers or disbelievers. But the deniers must listen to it carefully that they are astray because they consider that the Truth is a lie. Their End will be very frightful. In hunger they will eat from thorny trees of zaqqum (which will be like a species of thorny euphorbia) and fill up their bellies by it because nothing will they find there except it. And they will drink on top of it from scalding water as the drinking of thirsty camels, because they will be very hungry and thirsty. They sing for joy in this world but they have to die at last which they forget, and on the Day of Judgement they will be brought back to life. Then they will be entertained in such a way.

State of the Hellish

 

State of the Hellish (L-3175)

فِى سَمُومٍ وَحَمِيمٍ 42  وَظِلٍّ مِّن يَحْمُومٍ 43  لَّا بَارِدٍ وَلَا كَرِيمٍ 44  إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ قَبْلَ ذَٰلِكَ مُتْرَفِينَ 45  وَكَانُوا۟ يُصِرُّونَ عَلَى ٱلْحِنثِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ 46  وَكَانُوا۟ يَقُولُونَ أَئِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا وَعِظَٰمًا أَءِنَّا لَمَبْعُوثُونَ 47  أَوَءَابَآؤُنَا ٱلْأَوَّلُونَ 48

42.  Fii  samuuminw-wa  hamiim. 43.  Wa  zillim-miny-yahmuum. 44.  Laa  baaridinw-wa  laa  kariim. 45.  ‘Innaahum  kaanuu  qabla  zaalika  mutrafiin. 46.  Wa kaanuu  yusirruuna  'alal- hinsil- 'aziim. 47.  Wa  kaanuu  yaquuluuna,  ‘a-'izaa  mitnaa  wa  kunnaa  turaabanw-wa  ‘izaaman  'a-‘innaa  lamab-'uusuun. 48.  ‘Awa  ‘aabaaa-'unal-‘awwaluun.

42. In scorching wind and scalding water 43. And shadow of black smoke, 44. Neither cool nor refreshing. 45. Lo! heretofore they were effete with luxury 46. And used to persist in the awful sin. 47. And they used to say: When we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then, forsooth, be raised again, 48. And also our forefathers?

It is commanded: Those people who will be standing on the left side, they will be hellish. They will be in scorching fire and scalding water and a shade of black smoke, which will spread on them like shade. Neither will it be cool and nor beneficial for body or soul. Indeed they were, before that, indulging in affluence, enjoying and used to persist in the great violation. They were disbelievers of Allaah Almighty and used to say, "When we die and become dust and bones, then how shall we be resurrected? Our forefathers died and a long time has passed but they did not come back to life again, then how can we return to life?"
