Easiness and facility (L-3355)

عَلِمَ أَن لَّن تُحْصُوهُ فَتَابَ عَلَيْكُمْ فَٱقْرَءُوا۟ مَا تَيَسَّرَ مِنَ ٱلْقُرْءَانِ عَلِمَ أَن سَيَكُونُ مِنكُم مَّرْضَىٰ وَءَاخَرُونَ يَضْرِبُونَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ يَبْتَغُونَ مِن فَضْلِ ٱللَّهِ وَءَاخَرُونَ يُقَٰتِلُونَ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ فَٱقْرَءُوا۟ مَا تَيَسَّرَ مِنْهُ 20b

20b.  'Alima  ‘al-lan-  tuhsuuhu  fataaba   'alaykum  faqra-'uu  maa  ta-yassara  minal-Quraan.  'Alima  ‘an-  sayakuunu  minkum- marzaa,  wa  ‘aakharuuna  yazribuuna  fil-‘arzi  yabtaguuna  min- FazLillaahi  wa  ‘aakharuuna  yuqaatiluuna  fii  SabiiLillaah.  Faqra-'uu  maa  ta-yassara  minhu

20b.  He knows that you count it not, and turn unto you in mercy. Recite, then, of the Qur'an that which is easy for you. He knows that there are sick folk among you, while others travel in the land in search of Allah's bounty, and others (still) are fighting for the cause of Allah. So recite of it that which is easy (for you),

It is commanded: Accomplishing to say prayer always at night is difficult. So Allaah Almighty has forgiven you. To estimate concerning the time of worship at night (Midnight Prayer) was intricate for the people. Therefore, this obligatory (Tahajjud) prayer was forgiven after one year. Now it depends upon the worshipper who can get up for worship that he can recite Holy Qur’an in Tahajjud Prayer as much as he can easily without bondage of the time.

It is commanded: Allaah Almighty considered that some of the Muslims would be sick, some would be traveling for fulfilling their requirements and arrangement of their livelihood, some people would have to move towards far flange areas for acquiring knowledge and some would have to come out for confronting the enemies of Islam and they would not be able to offer prayer completely. Therefore Tahajjud Prayer is not obligatory now for common Muslims. However, the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) was commanded to offer this prayer regularly. And for the public, it became a common command that he should offer this prayer who can get up easily at night and recite Holy Qur’an in the prayer as much as he can recite easily. In the beginning this prayer was obligatory because there was a need to train the Muslims for making their habit to work hard and control their desires. This way they could be prepared for obeying the Commands of Allaah Almighty during tough times.

Way of salvation from the Doom (L-3354)

فَكَيْفَ تَتَّقُونَ إِن كَفَرْتُمْ يَوْمًا يَجْعَلُ ٱلْوِلْدَٰنَ شِيبًا 17  ٱلسَّمَآءُ مُنفَطِرٌۢ بِهِۦ كَانَ وَعْدُهُۥ مَفْعُولًا 18  إِنَّ هَٰذِهِۦ تَذْكِرَةٌ فَمَن شَآءَ ٱتَّخَذَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِۦ سَبِيلًا 19 (ع) إِنَّ رَبَّكَ يَعْلَمُ أَنَّكَ تَقُومُ أَدْنَىٰ مِن ثُلُثَىِ ٱلَّيْلِ وَنِصْفَهُۥ وَثُلُثَهُۥ وَطَآئِفَةٌ مِّنَ ٱلَّذِينَ مَعَكَ وَٱللَّهُ يُقَدِّرُ ٱلَّيْلَ وَٱلنَّهَارَ 20a

17.  Fakayfa  tattaquuna  ‘in  kafartum  Yawmany- yaj-'alul-wildaana  shiibaa. 18.  ‘As-samaaa-'u  munfatirum- bih.  Kaana  wa'-duhuu  maf-'uulaa. 19.  ‘Inna  haazihii  Tazkirah.  Fa-man  shaaa-'at-takhaza  ‘ilaa  Rabbihii  Sabiilaa. (Section 1/13) 20a.  ‘Inna  Rabbaka  ya'-lamu  ‘annaka  taquumu  ‘adnaa  min-  sulusa-yil-layli  wa  nisfahuu  wa  sulusahuu  wa  taaa-'ifatum-minal-laziina  ma-'ak.  Wallaahu  Yuqaddirul-layla  wan-nahaar.

17. Then how, if you disbelieve, will you protect yourselves upon the day which will turn children grey, 18. The very heaven being then rent asunder. His promise is to be fulfilled. 19. Lo! This is a Reminder. Let him who will, then, choose a way unto his Lord. 20a. Lo! Your Lord knows how you keep vigil sometimes nearly two-thirds of the night, or (sometimes) half or a third thereof, as do a party of those with you. Allah measures the night and the day.

It is commanded: How will you escape from the Doom of Allaah Almighty if you disobey Our Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) and do not act upon the Commandments of this Qur’an? If you are saved in this world by chance, even then you cannot be saved on the Doomsday. That Day, which will be so much fearful and horrible, will make the children white-haired (old) and the heaven will break apart there-from.

Remember it! His Promise will be fulfilled certainly. Anyhow, We have sent this Qur’an for your guidance and it is a reminder. All such things have been caused to understand in it which are better for you. It is a Book of Advice, which shows to everyone the way of reaching your Lord, Allaah Almighty. Now it depends on every individual that they reap advantage from it and get His pleasure or otherwise.

After that it is commanded: O Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him)! We have observed that you stand still in prayer almost two thirds of the night or half of it or a third of it, and so do a group of those with you (May Allaah be pleased with them). Allaah Almighty determines the extent of the night and the day that how much time you suffered and remained busy in His worship, while you are unable to guess.

Punishment of the disbelievers (L-3353)

إِنَّ لَدَيْنَآ أَنكَالًا وَجَحِيمًا 12  وَطَعَامًا ذَا غُصَّةٍ وَعَذَابًا أَلِيمًا 13  يَوْمَ تَرْجُفُ ٱلْأَرْضُ وَٱلْجِبَالُ وَكَانَتِ ٱلْجِبَالُ كَثِيبًا مَّهِيلًا 14  إِنَّآ أَرْسَلْنَآ إِلَيْكُمْ رَسُولًا شَٰهِدًا عَلَيْكُمْ كَمَآ أَرْسَلْنَآ إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ رَسُولًا 15  فَعَصَىٰ فِرْعَوْنُ ٱلرَّسُولَ فَأَخَذْنَٰهُ أَخْذًا وَبِيلًا 16

12.  ‘Inna  ladayNaaa  ‘ankaalanw-wa  Jahiimaa. 13.  Wa  Ta-'aaman  zaa  gussa-tinw-wa  'Azaaban  ‘aliimaa. 14.  Yawma  tarjuful-  ‘arzu  wal-jibaalu  wa  kaanatil-jibaalu  kasiibam-mahiilaa. 15.  ‘Innaaa  ‘arsalNaaa  ‘ilaykum  Rasuulan-  shaahidan  'alaykum  kamaaa  ‘arsalNaaa  ‘ilaa  Fir-'awna  Rasuulaa. 16.  Fa-'asaa  Fir-'awnur-Rasuula  fa-‘akhazNaahu  ‘akhzanw-wabiilaa.

12. Lo! with Us are heavy fetters and a raging fire, 13. And food which chokes (the partaker), and a painful doom 14. On the day when the earth and the hills rock, and the hills become a heap of running sand. 15. Lo! We have sent unto you a messenger as witness against you, even as We sent unto Pharaoh a messenger. 16. But Pharaoh rebelled against the messenger, whereupon We seized him with no gentle grip.

It is commanded: We have prepared shackles and burning fire, food that chokes and a painful punishment for the deniers, confronting on the Day of Resurrection, when the earth and the mountains will convulse and the mountains will become a heap of sand pouring down.

After that it is commanded: O people! We have sent to you a Messenger {Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him)} as a witness upon you just as We sent to Pharaoh a messenger {Moses (peace be upon him)}. Pharaoh disobeyed Our messenger and said that he was a liar. So We seized him with a ruinous seizure due to his disobedience. Now what do you say?

The First Step

 

The First Step (L-3352)

إِنَّ لَكَ فِى ٱلنَّهَارِ سَبْحًا طَوِيلًا 7  وَٱذْكُرِ ٱسْمَ رَبِّكَ وَتَبَتَّلْ إِلَيْهِ تَبْتِيلًا 8  رَّبُّ ٱلْمَشْرِقِ وَٱلْمَغْرِبِ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ فَٱتَّخِذْهُ وَكِيلًا 9  وَٱصْبِرْ عَلَىٰ مَا يَقُولُونَ وَٱهْجُرْهُمْ هَجْرًا جَمِيلًا 10  وَذَرْنِى وَٱلْمُكَذِّبِينَ أُو۟لِى ٱلنَّعْمَةِ وَمَهِّلْهُمْ قَلِيلًا 11

7.  ‘Inna  laka fin-nahaari  sabhan-  tawiilaa. 8.  Wazkurisma  Rabbika  wa  tabattal  ‘ilayhi  tabtiilaa. 9.  Rabbul-Mashriqi  wal-Magriibi  Laaa  ‘ilaaha  ‘illaa  Huwa  fattakhizHu  Wakiilaa. 10.  Wasbir  'alaa  maa  yaquuluuna  wah-jurhum  hajran  jamiilaa. 11.  Wa  zarnii  wal-mukaz-zibiina  ‘ulin-na'-mati  wa  mahhil-hum  qaliilaa.

7. Lo! You have by day a chain of business. 8. So remember the name of your Lord and devote yourself with a complete devotion - 9. Lord of the East and the West; there is no God save Him; so choose you Him alone for your defender - 10. And bear with patience what they utter, and part from them with a fair leave-taking. 11. Leave Me to deal with the deniers, lords of ease and comfort (in this life); and do you respite them awhile.

It is commanded: As you have to do many works during day time, for example, personal works, advising and teaching to the people, so you must remember the name of your Lord and devote yourself to Him with complete devotion in some part of the night. But when you remain busy with the people during the day light, even at that time too you must not forget Allaah Almighty but remember Him in your heart every time, lest your engagements in worldly matters make you careless from the Path of Allaah Almighty.

He is the Lord of the East and the West, the Protector of everything and everywhere day and night. Our hearty relationship must not be with any other than Him. There is no Deity except Him, so we must take Him as Disposer of our all affairs. Be patient over their misconduct and what they say that you are a madman or magician etc. Do not dispute but avoid them with gracious avoidance. Leave your Lord with the matter of the deniers, those of ease in life, and allow them respite a little. Increase your internal strength by inclining towards Him.
