Let not the Devil seduce you

Lesson # 837 from the Noble Quran

Let not the Devil seduce you

Surah ‘A’-‘RAAF (The Heights) – Chapter – 7)
Stage – 2, Verse – 27 of 206, Section – 3 of 24 (Part - 8)

BisMIllaahir-Rahmaanir-Rahiim
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

O Children of Adam! Let not Satan seduce you as he caused your (first) parents to go forth from the Garden and tore off from them their robe (of innocence) that he might manifest their shame to them. Lo! He seeth you, he and his tribe, from whence ye see them not. Lo! We have made the devils protecting friends for those who believe not.

Lesson
Laa  yafti-nanna – Let not him seduce), the word yafti-nanna is from fitnah. Its origin is fatuun, which means “to seduce”. Fitnah means “calamity, painful. Difficult”. Yan-zi-‘u (to cause to tear off the robe, to uncover, to snatch), this word has been derived from naza’. Naza’ means “to snatch something from someone”. If two people try to snatch the thing of each other, that misdeed will be called nazaa’. In addition, if many people begin to snatch their things from one another among themselves, it is called tanaaza’. Qabii-lun – (nation, tribe), it has been made from Qabal, which means “Anterior, previous, preliminary, and ahead”. Qabii-lun is the thing, which is “before, in front of anyone. Those people are also called Qabii-latun overall, who are closest to someone and remain in presence every time, so, it has been translated as “the nation”.

It is Second advice for the Children of Adam (peace be upon Him). The people have been cautioned clearly in it to beware of the tricks of Satan and it has been caused to understand in many forthcoming verses that: what does the Devil wish to take work from you and about which acts has Allah Almighty commanded to be obeyed? These both should not be inter-mixed.

It is commanded: O Children of Adam (peace be upon Him)! See! You should never be entrapped by Satan. The history of your first parents, Adam and His wife Eve (peace be upon Them) has been disclosed before you for the same purpose, so that you may be aware of the plans of Satan.

You will know easily from this story that: How Iblis seduced Adam and Eve (peace be upon Them) by flattering and how He talked with Them for deception and fraud? Finally they fell into his scheming of misleading. And due to this woe, they had to leave the Garden, their raiment was snatched from them, even that their shame was manifest in front of each other.

Eventually, they asked humbly from Allah Almighty for forgiveness and their error was forgiven, but they were sent down on the earth for living, where their children would have to deal with Satan during their entire life. He is very dangerous enemy of the mankind, who often lies secretly in ambush, from whence He observes you but you cannot see Him frequently. Therefore, you should seek the Shelter of Allah Almighty, because He (Satan) is in His (God’s) Sight every time. And Allah Almighty can save His own Believers from Satan’s both kinds of attacks (whether those are hidden or open). However, whosoever does neither believe in Allah Almighty and nor obeys His command, there is no shelter for such person for safety from the attack of Iblis.
