Lesson

Prophet Moses (peace be upon Him) said to the wizards: You should throw first that, what you want to throw. The wizards put their many bamboos, long poles, wooden pieces and ropes on the earth and spread them. After a while, the people, standing there, began to see all those things like snakes and serpents.

As it has been mentioned in this Surah, it is commanded that the wizards dropped those things on the earth which they brought with them and then they cast a spell upon the eyes of the people (practiced such incantation on their eyes) that those all things were looked them like running snakes and serpents. The people began to tremble due to fear.

In fact, it was a big charm of magic, which cannot be shown to the people without too much practice of fixing mind, with which thoughts of others may be impressed by own thoughts. But these entire were deceptions of human thought. Prophet Moses (peace be upon Him) did not have any kind of these imaginations.

It was manifestation of the endless power and omnipotence of - the Creator of all things, Who appropriates them as He desires and Glorious Owner, but Higher than the human intellect, idea or imagination, due to which, the Staff of Moses (peace be upon Him) used to become real serpent. There, wings of human perception were on fire. Therefore, it is commanded: We inspired in the heart of Moses (peace be upon Him) that He should throw His Staff on the earth.

As soon as Prophet Moses (peace be upon Him) threw His staff on the earth, now it was a big serpent and it began to swallow the bamboos, poles, wooden pieces and ropes of the wizards. The field was clear from these things in a very short duration. Tricks of magic were disappeared. The game prepared by the wizards got out of their order. Heads of all people bent due to shame, fear and confusion. Prophet Moses (peace be upon Him) won the competition and the wizards were defeated very badly. Pharaoh and his chiefs were so disgraced that they were not able to show their faces anywhere.
