Nus-khatihaa – this word is
from nasakha, which means “to
inscribe, to write”. The word Nuskhah
is from it also which means “a written thing, an inscription, a recipe”.
Punishment of
those who did worship of calf, was described in the previous verse. Along with
it, repenting according to the prescribed method was proposed for them as a
source of deliverance.
After that,
circumstances in respect of Prophet Moses (peace be upon Him) are being
described again from this verse. It is commanded that when the anger of Moses
(peace be upon Him) abated and the wroth had gone, He took up the tablets of
Torah, which He had cast down. Those commands, which were written on those
tablets, were very useful words of the believers’ Lord.
This token of
those who believe in Lord Almighty has been described in the verse that they
fear God Almighty and in every matter, at first, they bear in mind that He
should not be displeased from them. Truly, if someone has belief that: that
entire is from God Almighty, whatsoever I have been receiving. There is no one
other who may give this all. My life is established because He looks after me
every time. While, whenever and whichever is necessary for my living and for making
my condition graceful, He provides immediately, then how can I displease such Protector,
a Kind Friend and Benefactor ever? I must fear Him (Allah Almighty) every time
because if He withdrew His attention from me, then what shall I do? Then I
shall be of nowhere. The word yarhabuun in the verse, has the same meaning
that such people try their best to keep Him pleased every moment.
That happening
has been mentioned in the verse after it which has been explained in Surah Baqarah (Chapter – 2), that the
Children of Israel said: O Moses (peace be upon Him)! We shall believe in Allah
Almighty at that time, when we shall hear His Voice with our own ears.
At the
appointed time, Prophet Moses (peace be upon Him) chose seventy men from the
Children of Israel and brought them on the mountain Sinai. When they insisted
to see Allah Almighty, the lightning fell down, the trembling came on them and then
they were immobilized like the dead.
