Baniii ‘Isaaa-‘iil means “the Sons of
Israel”. Israel is surname of Prophet Jacob (peace be upon him) and the mention of the
Children of Israel is in this Chapter. Heavenly Scripture Torah was given to
this nation for guidance, but they put its commandments behind and did never
act upon its Instructions. It was the reason that they were punished.
Behavior of this astonishing nation has been caused
to know to the Arab and the entire world at various places in Holy Qur’an
and the Muslims particularly have been advised that they should not do as they
(the children of Israel ) did i.e. disregarding the Scripture of God Almighty (Holy Qur’an)
like them and executing not fully its Commandments.
Some historical circumstances of the Children of
Israel have been described briefly even in the beginning of this Chapter. And
it has been commanded that as Moses (peace be upon him) was sent as a Messenger
unto them, like this, now after a long time, Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings
and peace be upon him) has been sent unto you as a Messenger. Special
supereminences have been given to him; by which it appears that his dignity is
most eminent and superior to all other mankind. His (grace, glory, blessings
and peace be upon him) peculiarity is “Ascension”, which is called “’Asraa”
also. ‘Asraa means “trust, reliance, means of protection, confidence,
assurance, expectation, sanctuary, shelter and abode etc.” In it, he (grace,
glory, blessings and peace be upon him) was caused to make a trip of the Temple
of Jerusalem in the middle of the night, whence he was brought to heavens and
shown the Curiosities of those places, so that his Belief should be stronger by
looking the Scenes of God’s Omnipotence and he may explain before the human
beings according to their capability about the Principles of Islam properly,
because it is the condition of mankind that he does not comprehend about own good
or bad.
First of all, Allah Almighty guided the mankind
unto Own cognizance. Then He explained clearly that what is good for them and
what is injurious. He commanded also: Be careful because your deeds will be
weighed and measured on the Day of Resurrection. The world pulls you unto
itself but you should not be; as you are of it only. We shall give you according
to your courage for what you will ask. But the world is of a few days whereas
the Hereafter is an abode for ever. So you should pass your life of this world
as you have been guided by Allah Almighty.
It has been commanded to the mankind: Save yourselves
from Satan. He is your natural enemy. To manifest this fact, attention has been
drawn towards the story of Adam (peace be upon him). Then Allah Almighty says:
Obey and follow the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him).
After that method of specific worship (how to offer prayer) has been described.
The end of the Chapter is upon praising of Allah Almighty.
