Production of milk from bellies

Chapter “Mu’-minuun” – (The Believers) - 23

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.

 (I seek refuge in Allaah from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.
(In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

 وَإِنَّ لَكُمْ فِى ٱلْأَنْعَٰمِ لَعِبْرَةً نُّسْقِيكُم مِّمَّا فِى بُطُونِهَا وَلَكُمْ فِيهَا مَنَٰفِعُكَثِيرَةٌ وَمِنْهَا تَأْكُلُونَ 21  وَعَلَيْهَا وَعَلَى ٱلْفُلْكِ تُحْمَلُونَ 22

21b.  We give you to drink of that which is in their bellies, and many uses have ye in them, and some of them do ye eat – 22.  And on them and on the ship ye are carried.

21b.  Nusqiikum-mim-maa  fii  butuunihaa  wa  lakum  fiihaa  manaafi-‘u  kasiira-tunw-wa  minhaa  ta’-kuluun. 22.  Wa  ‘alayhaa  wa  ‘alal-fulki  tuhmaluun.  (Section 1)

Commentary

It is commanded: As vegetables, fruit and grain were grown from the earth for you, like this; beasts were made obedient to you, that you may reap advantages from them. Allaah Almighty created grass and fodder for animals of the land, so that those may eat bellyful. Moreover, from their inside; the milk should be prepared from a portion of their food and it should come out, which you may drink. Allaah Almighty is He, Who made this arrangement of producing milk into them. It was never in the power of any other that he might change a portion of cattle’s food into milk. And then he might make them your obedient so that you may bring out the milk from their udder, drink it yourselves, cause to drink to your children and entertain your guests. In addition, not only the milk of cattle is advantageous, but some kinds of cattle have been made lawful for you that you should sacrifice them in the name of Allaah and eat their meat as a food after cooking.

Besides this, you take many other works from the animals. On dry earthy paths, you ride on them and move from one place to any other and transport your luggage from hither to thither. If any river or sea comes in the way, then Allaah Almighty arranged also for you to go on board a ship/boat, in which you may load your luggage including yourselves to go comfortably from one place to other.

After that, you can go forth by riding yourselves and loading your luggage on the quadruped. In short, the beasts are useful for you in every form. You should drink milk and eat meat of those cattle as food which are lawful, and take work from them as means of conveyance at dry land as you use ships in the sea.
