None can be Protecting Friend beside Allah

Chapter “Furqaan”- {The Criterion (of Right and Wrong)} - 25

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.

 (I seek refuge in Allaah from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.
(In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

                                                           

قَالُوا۟ سُبْحَٰنَكَ مَا كَانَ يَنۢبَغِى لَنَآ أَن نَّتَّخِذَ مِن دُونِكَ مِنْ أَوْلِيَآءَوَلَٰكِن مَّتَّعْتَهُمْ وَءَابَآءَهُمْ حَتَّىٰ نَسُوا۟ ٱلذِّكْرَ وَكَانُوا۟ قَوْمًۢا بُورًا 18  

18a.  They will say: Be Thou Glorified! It was not for us to choose any protecting friends beside Thee;

18a.  Qaaluu  “SubhaanaKa  maa  kaana  yambagii  lanaaa  ‘an-nattakhiza  min-  duuniKa  min  ‘awliyaaa-‘a;

Commentary

Nattakhizu – (we choose), this word has been derived from ‘ittakhaazun, origin of which is ‘akhaz. ‘Akhaz means “exaction, seizure, catching, assuming etc. ‘Ittakhaazun means “to choose, to make strong relation with, to adopt”.

The people of the world have forgotten their Creator. Their sense has begun to go astray. Common people are interested in only those matters; by hearing, looking or using of which they may get bodily relishes. Now they are under the control of their desires. They go unto that direction to which their desires indicate. They are unable to proceed according to the guidance of their sense.

Alas! It was the duty of the sense to control the wishes, but the wishes pressed it down, concealed it and controlled it. Now instead of looking the Omnipotence of Allaah Almighty, it has fallen in the love with apparent beauty of the universe, and it has been praising everything falsely.

With which things the mankind has fallen in the love, those will be asked before the mankind on the Day of Resurrection: Why did you incline the human beings unto yourselves by freeing them from Allaah Almighty (as it has been mentioned in this verse)? Reply from all of them will be: Be You Glorified! We had no any such quality by showing which; we might allure them. We live with Your Support. And that is given by You what we have. We are nothing if You do not help us. They were unable to give us anything, so we were not needy of them. Then how could we be their adored?
