Signs of Allah (L-2904)

وَيُرِيكُمْ ءَايَٰتِهِۦ فَأَىَّ ءَايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ تُنكِرُونَ 81  أَفَلَمْ يَسِيرُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَيَنظُرُوا۟ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ كَانُوٓا۟ أَكْثَرَ مِنْهُمْ وَأَشَدَّ قُوَّةً وَءَاثَارًا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَمَآ أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يَكْسِبُونَ 82

81.  Wa  Yuriikum  ‘AayaatiHii  fa-‘ayya  ‘AayaaTillaahi  tunkiruun. 82.  ‘Afalam  yasiiruu  fil-‘arzi  fayanzuruu  kayfa  kaana  ‘Aaqibatul-laziina  min-  qablihim.  Kaanuuu  ‘aksara  minhum  wa  ‘ashadda  quwwatanw-wa  ‘aa-saaran-  fil-‘arzi  famaaa  ‘agnaa  ‘anhum-maa  kaanuu  yaksibuun.

81. And He shows you His signs. So which of God’s signs will you deny? 82. Have they not journeyed through the land, and seen the outcome for those before them? They were more numerous than they, and had greater power and influence in the land. But what they had achieved availed them nothing.

God Almighty has bestowed sense to the mankind. His work is to know his Creator and Lord by observing circumstances and occurrences of the world and its strange arrangement. And then he should think that what advantages he himself has been reaping from the things created by God Almighty. By a little effort, his sense will tell him that the Creator has created all such things for benefits of the mankind. And reason of mankind’s creation is that he must know God Almighty, be thankful to Him and engage himself in His worship.

It is commanded: God Almighty shows you His Signs, even then you do not believe in Him. So which of the Signs of Allaah will you deny? Travel through the land and observe; how was the end of those who came and passed away before you? What did they do and what was the result of their works? They were more powerful and more than you in numbers. They constructed big and strong buildings, but created disorder in the earth and disobeyed the Commands of God Almighty. So doom of God Almighty came upon them. Then neither their physical strength could save them and nor their buildings. They entire were ruined.

Difference between God and Apostle (L-2903)

وَمَا كَانَ لِرَسُولٍ أَن يَأْتِىَ بِـَٔايَةٍ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِ ٱللَّهِ فَإِذَا جَآءَ أَمْرُ ٱللَّهِ قُضِىَ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَخَسِرَ هُنَالِكَ ٱلْمُبْطِلُونَ 78b  ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِى جَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلْأَنْعَٰمَ لِتَرْكَبُوا۟ مِنْهَا وَمِنْهَا تَأْكُلُونَ 79  وَلَكُمْ فِيهَا مَنَٰفِعُ وَلِتَبْلُغُوا۟ عَلَيْهَا حَاجَةً فِى صُدُورِكُمْ وَعَلَيْهَا وَعَلَى ٱلْفُلْكِ تُحْمَلُونَ 80

78b.  Wa  maa  kaana  li-rasuulin  ‘any-ya’-tiya  bi-‘Aayatin  ‘illaa  bi-‘izNillaah.  Fa-‘izaa  jaaa-‘a  ‘AmrUllaahi  quziya  bil-Haqqi  wa  khasira  hunaalikal-mubtiluun. (Section 8/13) 79.  ‘Allaahul0lazii  ja-‘ala  la-kumul-  ‘an-‘aama  litarkabuu  minhaa  wa  minhaa  ta’-kuluun. 80.  Wa  lakum  fiihaa  manaafi-‘u  wa  litabluguu  ‘alayhaa  haajatan  fii  suduurikum  wa  ‘alayhaa  wa  ‘alal-fulki  tuhmaluun.

78b.  No messenger can bring a miracle except by leave of God. Then, when the command of God is issued, fair judgment will be passed, and there and then the seekers of vanity will lose. 79. God is He who created the domestic animals for you—some for you to ride, and some you eat. 80. And in them you have other benefits as well, and through them you satisfy your needs. And on them, and on the ships, you are transported.

It was commanded previously: O Messenger (ﷺ), We appointed many Prophets (Peace be upon them) before you in the world, among them some are those circumstances of whom We have described you; and some of whom We have not told you.

After that it is commanded: No messenger (Peace be upon him) can bring any Sign or Verse except by leave of God Almighty because they are loyal to His Commandment. Showing any miracle is not in their power. Only those Prophets (Peace be upon them) can show a miracle who are permitted by God Almighty. The people who do not follow them, their judgment is in the Hand of God Almighty. When His Command is issued, fair judgment is passed. Messengers of God (Peace be upon them) and their companions get victory but the wrongdoers are defeated.

Then it is commanded: That is God Who created the domestic animals for you—some for you to ride, and some you eat and you have other benefits as well, and through them you fulfill your needs. And on them, and on the ships, you are carried.

Consoling the Messenger

 

Consoling the Messenger (L-2902)

فَٱصْبِرْ إِنَّ وَعْدَ ٱللَّهِ حَقٌّ فَإِمَّا نُرِيَنَّكَ بَعْضَ ٱلَّذِى نَعِدُهُمْ أَوْ نَتَوَفَّيَنَّكَ فَإِلَيْنَا يُرْجَعُونَ 77  وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا رُسُلًا مِّن قَبْلِكَ مِنْهُم مَّن قَصَصْنَا عَلَيْكَ وَمِنْهُم مَّن لَّمْ نَقْصُصْ عَلَيْكَ 78a

77.  Fasbir  ‘inna  Wa’-dAllaahi  Haqq.  Fa-‘immaa  nuriyannaka  ba’-zallazii  Na-‘iduhum  ‘aw  natawaffa-yannaka  fa-‘ilayNaa  yurja-‘uun. 78a.  Wa  laqad  ‘arsalNaa  rusulam-min  qablika  minhum-man  qasasNaa  ‘alayka  wa  minhum-mal-lam  naqsus  ‘alayk.

77. So be patient. The promise of God is true. Whether We show you some of what We have promised them, or take you to Us, to Us they will be returned. 78a. We sent messengers before you. Some of them We told you about, and some We did not tell you about.

In the previous verses, after causing to hear the end of those who disbelieved in God Almighty, His Messengers (Peace be upon them) and His Scripture, it is commanded to the last Messenger (ﷺ): While impudence of these people has been increased so much that they do not care in hearing of Our Revelations, then you must leave them on their condition. You have performed your duty, so you must not be worried in favor of them. Wait and be patient now! There is no doubt in it that the Promise of Allaah is true and that will surely happen for which He has promised. Maybe some of the torment upon them will come during your life. But suppose you depart from the world by the Command of God Almighty, even then there will be no difference in their torment. Certainly they will get retaliation of their disobedience. However they will have to get in touch with Us, even after death they will be brought back to life and produced before Us. Assuredly, We have sent Prophets (Peace be upon them) in the world before you. Among them some are those whose stories We have related to you in Holy Qur’an, and some are those whose stories We have not told to you.

It turned out that some such Prophets (Peace be upon them) came in the world, whose names and circumstances have not been mentioned in Holy Qur’an. Believing in their Prophet-hood, whether those are mentioned in Holy Qur’an or not, is absolutely compulsory without knowing their name.

Question from the Hellish (L-2901)

ثُمَّ قِيلَ لَهُمْ أَيْنَ مَا كُنتُمْ تُشْرِكُونَ 73   مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ قَالُوا۟ ضَلُّوا۟ عَنَّا بَل لَّمْ نَكُن نَّدْعُوا۟ مِن قَبْلُ شَيْـًٔا كَذَٰلِكَ يُضِلُّ ٱللَّهُ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ 74  ذَٰلِكُم بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَفْرَحُونَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ بِغَيْرِ ٱلْحَقِّ وَبِمَا كُنتُمْ تَمْرَحُونَ 75   ٱدْخُلُوٓا۟ أَبْوَٰبَ جَهَنَّمَ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا فَبِئْسَ مَثْوَى ٱلْمُتَكَبِّرِينَ 76

73.   Summa  qiila  lahum  ‘ayna  maa  kuntum  tushrikuuna. 74.  Min  duuNillaah.  Qaaluu  zal-luu  ‘annaa  bal-lam  nakunnad-‘uu  min-  qablu  shay-‘aa.  Kazaalika  yuzillUllaahul-kaafiriin. 75.  Zaalikum-  bimaa  kuntum  tafrahuuna  fil-‘arzi  bigayril-Haqqi  wa  bimaa  kuntum  tamrahuun. 76.  ‘Udkhuluuu  ‘abwaaba  Jahannama  khaalidiina  fiihaa,  fabi’-sa  maswal-mutakabbiriin.

73. Then it will be said to them, “Where are those you used to deify? 74. Instead of God?” They will say, “They have abandoned us. In fact, we were praying to nothing before.” Thus God sends the disbelievers astray. 75. That is because you used to rejoice on earth in other than the truth, and because you used to behave with vanity. 76. Enter the gates of Hell, to remain therein forever. What a terrible dwelling for the arrogant.

Tamrahuuna – (you used to behave with vanity)

The inmates of the Hell will be questioned in the Hell: Say! Where are those gods to which you used to associate with God Almighty in worship? They will look here and there being confused, but no one will be visible or if present; will be useless. Then they will answer: They have departed from us; rather, In fact, we were neither worshiping and nor praying to anything in the world. Thus God Almighty sends the disbelievers astray. Then angels (Peace be upon them) will say: You were happy in the world and used to exult upon the earth without right and used to behave insolently. So enter the gates of Hell as consequence to remain therein forever. What a terrible dwelling for the arrogant.

The end of disputers (L-2900)

أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى ٱلَّذِينَ يُجَٰدِلُونَ فِىٓ ءَايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ أَنَّىٰ يُصْرَفُونَ 69   ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِٱلْكِتَٰبِ وَبِمَآ أَرْسَلْنَا بِهِۦ رُسُلَنَا فَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُونَ 70   إِذِ ٱلْأَغْلَٰلُ فِىٓ أَعْنَٰقِهِمْ وَٱلسَّلَٰسِلُ يُسْحَبُونَ 71   فِى ٱلْحَمِيمِ ثُمَّ فِى ٱلنَّارِ يُسْجَرُونَ 72

69.  ‘Alam  tara  ‘ilallaziina  yujaa-diluuna  fiii  ‘aayaaTillaah.  ‘Annaa  yusrafuun. 70.  ‘Allaziina  kazzabuu  bul-Kitaabi  wa  bimaaa  ‘arsalNaa  bihii  rusulaNaa  fasawfa  ya’-lamuuna. 71.  ‘Izil-‘aglaalu  fiii  ‘a’-naaqihim  was-salaasil.  Yus-habuuna. 72.  Fil-Hamiimi,  summa  fin-Naari  yusjaruun.

69. Have you not observed those who dispute regarding God's revelations, how they have deviated? 70. Those who call the Book a lie, and what We sent Our messengers with—they will surely know. 71. When the yokes are around their necks, and they will be dragged by the chains. 72. Into the boiling water, then in the Fire they will be consumed.

Yus-habuuna – (they will be dragged), this word has been derived from sahubun, which means “to drag, to bring away by pulling”.

Yusjaruuna – (they will be pushed into, they will become Fuel of the Fire), this word is from sajara, which means “an oven and to cast fuel”, that is to say; they will be thrown into the Fire like fuel.

There are a lot of things in the world which attract the mankind and then he tries to take it in his possession. In this process, the people begin to struggle against one another and dispute, even they die.

It is commanded: Have you not observed those who dispute regarding Revelations after hearing, and they don’t care concerning those instructions which We have sent by means of Our Messengers (Peace be upon them). They are being warned that they must be careful in the world and abide by those rules and regulations which We have revealed from time to time for their guidance. Summary of those Instructions has been recorded in Holy Qur’an for always, otherwise they should bear it in mind that they will come to know the consequence of their refractoriness and obstinacy very soon. O haughty people! The yokes; tied with chains will be around your necks, and the Angels (Peace be upon them) will drag you by the chains in boiling water.
