Question from the Hellish (L-2901)

ثُمَّ قِيلَ لَهُمْ أَيْنَ مَا كُنتُمْ تُشْرِكُونَ
73 مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ قَالُوا۟ ضَلُّوا۟ عَنَّا بَل لَّمْ نَكُن نَّدْعُوا۟ مِن قَبْلُ شَيْـًٔا كَذَٰلِكَ يُضِلُّ ٱللَّهُ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ
74 ذَٰلِكُم بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَفْرَحُونَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ بِغَيْرِ ٱلْحَقِّ وَبِمَا كُنتُمْ تَمْرَحُونَ
75 ٱدْخُلُوٓا۟ أَبْوَٰبَ جَهَنَّمَ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا فَبِئْسَ مَثْوَى ٱلْمُتَكَبِّرِينَ 76 |

73. Summa qiila lahum ‘ayna maa kuntum tushrikuuna. 74. Min duuNillaah. Qaaluu zal-luu ‘annaa bal-lam nakunnad-‘uu min- qablu shay-‘aa. Kazaalika yuzillUllaahul-kaafiriin. 75. Zaalikum- bimaa kuntum tafrahuuna fil-‘arzi bigayril-Haqqi wa bimaa kuntum tamrahuun. 76. ‘Udkhuluuu
‘abwaaba Jahannama khaalidiina
fiihaa, fabi’-sa maswal-mutakabbiriin. |

73.
Then it will be said to them, “Where are those you used to deify? 74.
Instead of God?” They will say, “They have abandoned us. In fact, we were
praying to nothing before.” Thus God sends the disbelievers astray. 75.
That is because you used to rejoice on earth in other than the truth, and
because you used to behave with vanity. 76. Enter the gates of Hell, to remain therein forever. What a
terrible dwelling for the arrogant. |
Tamrahuuna – (you used to behave with vanity)
The inmates of the Hell will be questioned in the Hell: Say! Where are those gods to which you used to associate with God Almighty in worship? They will look here and there being confused, but no one will be visible or if present; will be useless. Then they will answer: They have departed from us; rather, In fact, we were neither worshiping and nor praying to anything in the world. Thus God Almighty sends the disbelievers astray. Then angels (Peace be upon them) will say: You were happy in the world and used to exult upon the earth without right and used to behave insolently. So enter the gates of Hell as consequence to remain therein forever. What a terrible dwelling for the arrogant.
