Worthless things are assigned unto God

Suratun-Nahl - (The Bee) - 16

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.
(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

57.  And they assign a portion of that which We have given them unto what they know not. By Allah! But ye will indeed be asked concerning (all) that ye used to invent.

57.  And they assign unto Allah daughters – be He Glorified! -and unto themselves what they desire-
56.  Wa  yaj-‘aluuna  lima  laa  ya’-lamuuna  nasiibam-mim-maa  razaqNaahum.  Tallaahi  la-tus-‘alunna  ‘ammaa  kuntum  taf-taruun.

57.  Wa  yaj-‘aluuna  Lillaahil-banaati  Sub-haanaHuu,  wa  la-hum-maa  yashta-huun.

Commentary

Yashta-huuna – (they desire), origin of this word is ‘ishti-haa-‘un, which has been derived from shah-watun. Shah-watun means “desire, wish, will”. We use this word only for sexual desires, whereas in Arabic language; every desire is shah-watun. ‘Ishti-haa-‘un means “to desire, hunger, quest etc.”

Holy Qur’aan causes to learn that you should give up offering and sacrificing on the names of idols. Whatever you receive; gives Allah Almighty. While tillage, trade or cattle, everything is given by Him only, then why do you separate a portion of idols from the production? It has been commanded in this verse: The infidel people assign a portion of idols from the provisions given by Allah Almighty, which is extremely injustice. You will indeed be asked about these false worshipped, which have been fabricated by your own hands that “whence have they come”? Satan has misled you. You accept Allah Almighty by your mouths, but neither your hearts give Him any importance and nor you know well about His Epithets. Behold! Allah Almighty is Pure from having descendants, whereas you assign unto Him daughters. Repent of your such attribution. He is above the entire kinds of indigence and not needy of children. Marvel is this that you like the best things for yourselves as you ask always for a son, but attribute unto Allah useless and worthless things.
