Belief in the Unseen (1st^st Characteristic of Good people) (L–18)

3a. الَّذينَ يُؤمِنونَ بِالغَيبِ

3a.  ‘Allaziina yu’-minuuna bil-Gaybi

3a.  Those who believe in the unseen,

‘Allaziina – (Those people, who), according to the rules of grammar, this word is called

“Relative Pronoun”. Its Singular is ‘allazii. This word has been used again and again in

Holy Qur‘an.

Yu’-minuuna – (they believe, have faith). This word has been derived from ‘Iimaan.

‘Iimaan means Belief, ‘to admit the Truth of anything with tongue, have faith in the heart

about it and plan to act according to it. The individual, who believes, comes in peace

from all doubts. This is the Belief, which is reliable in the Divine Law of the Religion.

Gaybi – it aims “such World, which is higher than this apparent universe, the news

about which, can only be known by means of any Prophet (Peace be upon him). For

example: Nature and Attributes of God, the Angels (Peace be upon them), the

Paradise and the Hell, the Day of Resurrection, the accounts of good manners and the

evils (sins), rewards and punishment according to personal acts etc. “The Belief in the

Unseen” cannot be perfect without Belief in the Prophet (Peace be upon him).

It was narrated in the previous lesson that Holy Qur’an is A Complete Code of Life for the people, who desire to reap advantage from it being extremely sincere and with pure intention, who have ability and excitement to live with care and look after their own. And they have ambition to pass their lives with chastity and cautiously.

First attribute of the pious people has been described in this verse, which will grow into them by the Guidance of Holy Qur’an i.e. they believe in such things without looking, existence of which is higher than apparent senses.

Without belief, the heart remains unsatisfied, restless and unstable, because without its existence - doubts, hesitation, whims and suspicions make a room in the hearts. But a believer does not fear in stress and strain, at the time of severe and painful calamity and trial. Moreover, he gets encourage because he believes that he has a big support and strong trust. And he gains happiness of his mind from it, satisfaction of the heart and comfort of his soul. This faith in the World of Unseen is marrow of the Religion and soul of Belief. Without it, the Belief cannot be matured. 

We got ready ourselves for obtaining Guidance from Holy Qur’an and joined the people, who fear God. Now we should produce such virtues in ourselves according to the teachings of Holy Qur’an, for which, It has guided us. We must believe in all the facts of Unseen unhesitatingly, which have been caused us to know by means of the last Messenger (ﷺ).
