Introduction - Chapter “’Ahqaaf” - (The Wind-curved Sand-hills) – 46 (L-3025)

According to the established order, this is forty-sixth Chapter of Holy Qur’an which was revealed during the stay at Makkah. It has four Sections and is seventh from the Chapters which begin from the words “Haa-Miiim”.

It is commanded: This Qur’an is sent down by Allaah Almighty Who is the Mighty, the Wise. He created the heavens and the earth in subjection to a prescribed plan and this system will run up to a time fixed by Him, and at last it will be perished. Then the Day of Resurrection will be established. The people who deny it, they hear the threat of the punishment of their wicked deeds but don’t care. Say to them: Did they create any part of the earth or were they participants in creating the sky, to whom you call for help; by turning away from Allaah Almighty; and deny the Truth? Describe, if it is written in any earlier Scripture or any sure thing concerning it has already been coming famous, otherwise listen to it carefully that neither false gods will be useful for you in this world and nor in the Hereafter. But these will become your open enemies.

After observing the influence of the verses of Holy Qur’an, they say that it is an enchantment. Say to them: I have not fabricated this Qur’an myself but it has been revealed by Allaah Almighty, and I am also His Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) like the Messengers (peace be upon them) before me. Behold! The Scholars of the Jews give evidence concerning it and many of them have believed. You are unlucky because you insist upon your stubbornness. Then how can you get guidance? They say: If it was a true Religion then our ancestors would have accepted it, but it is being embraced by them who are inferior to us. Therefore, it is obvious that this is a self-fabricated thing of old. 

That is wrong what they say. This is the last ring of the chain of Prophets (peace be upon them) and Scriptures. In the past, Moses (peace be upon him) brought Torah and now Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) brought this Qur’an in Arabic language, which verifies old Scriptures and shows right path to good people. Listen! Allaah Almighty created the mankind. Some mankinds comply with His Commandments. Their end will be good. Some are those who disobey Him. Their end will be worse. It will be said to them: You have already taken that what you had to take in the world. Now (on the Day of Resurrection) there is nothing for you but torment.

After that, the circumstances of Aad’s folk have been described and warned: They suffered the punishment of their refractoriness in the world as well as they hoarded the doom of the Hereafter too.

Then there is mention of the Jinn. After hearing the verses of Holy Qur’an, some of them believed, went back and invited their nation to believe. At the end, the attention is drawn: The same Allaah, Who created the heavens and the earth but did not feel any tiredness, He has power to bring back the dead to life again. Accordingly, they will be reproduced, the Day of Resurrection will be established and the disobedient will be punished severely.
