Four Characteristics of Muhammad (ﷺ) (L-155)

رَبَّنا وَابعَث فيهِم
رَسولًا مِنهُم يَتلو عَلَيهِم آياتِكَ وَيُعَلِّمُهُمُ الكِتابَ وَالحِكمَةَ
وَيُزَكّيهِم ۚ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ العَزيزُ الحَكيمُ129. |

129. Rabbanaa wab-‘as fiihim
Rasuulam-minhum yatluu ‘alayhim ‘AayaatiKa wa
yu-‘allimuhumul- Kitaaba wal-Hikmata wa yuzakkiihim ‘InnaKa
‘Antal-‘Aziizul-Hakiim. (Section 15) |

129. Our Lord, and raise up among them a messenger, of
themselves, who will recite to them Your revelations, and teach them the Book
and wisdom, and purify them. You are the Almighty, the Wise.” |
The Prophets Abraham and Ishmael (Peace be upon them) are praying collectively, “O our Lord! Produce a Submissive group/class from the race of the both of us and raise up also a Messenger from among them. It is evident clearly that it signifies towards the race of the Prophet Ishmael (Peace be upon him). God accepted their supplication and the Last Messenger of God, Muhammad (ﷺ) was born from the Children of Prophet Ishmael (Peace be upon him).
The first work of the Messenger (ﷺ) is recitation of the verses of Holy Qur’an before his nation. That is to say; ‘to convey and teach the Word of God. As though, his first status/designation is “the Greatest Preacher”.
He shall instruct them in the Scripture, teach them Your Book, the work of Messenger of God (ﷺ) does not go to an end only on preaching and conveying, It is his duty too to teach the Holy Book of God after preaching and conveying. As it were, his second status/designation is “the Greatest Teacher”.
Third work of the Prophet of God is to teach Wisdom and Science, to cause to know the Commands and matters relating Holy Qur’an, to teach etiquettes, to describe the solution of various and complicated problems regarding the life in Its light as though; his third status is “the Greatest Religious and Spiritual Guide”.
Fourth work of the Messenger of God (ﷺ) is to produce chastity of morality and sincerity of intentions by his company and training. That is to say, he is “the Greatest Antidote and Reformer”.
Prophet Abraham and his son Prophet Ishmael (Peace be upon them) used to pray in the Court of God during the construction of His House, “O Our Lord! Produce a Submissive nation from our race, raise up a Messenger from among them, who would have four characteristics:
He (ﷺ) would recite and teach the Book of God to the people, admonish them and by means of It; purify their hearts. That is to say, He would be “Preacher, Teacher, Religious and Spiritual Guide, and Reformer”. These entire characteristics were bestowed to the Last Messenger (ﷺ).
