25. Lo! Those who
disbelieve and bar (men) from the Way of Allah and from the Inviolable Place
of Worship, which We have appointed for mankind together, the dweller therein
and the nomad; whosoever seeketh wrongful partiality therein, him We shall
cause to taste a painful Doom.

Commentary
‘Al-baad – (nomad, one who roams from place to
place, wanderer, foreigner etc.), actually this word is ‘al-baadii which
is the Subject from bad-wun. Bad-wun means “villages; and movement
from any village toward the township”.
‘Ilhaadi – (to go forth crooked, to bend, to
incline, to turn), this word has passed in Suratun-Nahl (Chapter 16).
It was commanded that the people, who disbelieve in Allaah
Almighty, do not live in peace. They create disputes against the Believers
because the person, who believed in Allaah Almighty, would never listen
to any disbeliever. It is the reason that the disbelievers confront great hindrance
in controlling the people according to their will. They desire that all people
should dwell under their command as the obedient. But the obedient of Allaah
Almighty cannot be obedient of any other. Therefore the Idolaters of Makkah
became enemies of the Muslims and they stopped them from visiting the
Inviolable Place of Worship, whereas there should be no restriction for any
worshiper to visit the Inviolable Place of Worship.
It is commanded: These disbeliever people who prevent the
Muslims from visiting the Inviolable Place of Worship, they themselves deserve
to taste a painful doom. Allaah Almighty has appointed the Inviolable
Place of Worship for the entire mankind. The dwellers of that Holy Place and those
who wish to come for worshiping from different parts of the world; are equal. In
this connection, We shall punish as much severely to that person who will break
this simple rule, treat the people with crookedness, and violate the rights of
any other; that he will forget his all airs.
In such a manner, the Disbelievers tasted a painful doom even in
the world due to their villainy during the Battle of Badr, and on the
Day of Resurrection; they will reach as a whole the recompense for the evil
they did.
