وَمِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ مَن يُجَٰدِلُ فِى ٱللَّهِ بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ وَيَتَّبِعُ كُلَّ شَيْطَٰنٍ مَّرِيدٍ 3

Commentary

Mariidin – (froward, refractory, perverse), this word is an adjective from marada, which means “disobedience”. This word has passed in Suratun-Nisaa’.

Tawallaa – (to become friend), it is past tense from the word tawallii, which has been derived from walii. Walii means “a friend, nearness, relationship”. Tawallaa means “to be near”. The word waliyyun has come out from the same.

Allaah Almighty commanded to his slaves for doing some works and forbade from doing some works. The mankind should believe in it that those works for which Allaah Almighty has commanded to do; are useful for the mankind in both worlds i.e. this world and the Hereafter. And from which works He has prevented, those are hurtful in favor of him in the both worlds.

It has been commanded in this verse that some people dispute in the Commandments of Allaah Almighty without knowledge, and by turning away from them, they follow the sayings of froward, refractory and perverse people. They do not know that they have been cursed by Allaah Almighty. And it is indisputable matter about them that the person who will obey their sayings and will choose them for friends, they will mislead him from the Right Path and guide him unto such Path which will bring him directly unto the Hell, where he will be burnt always. Verily some people are of such nature that they are unable to understand the Truth and go always astray. Such people are disciples of Satan. And they will ruin the person who will come into their hands.
