An awful calumny

Chapter “Nuur” – (Light) - 24

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.

 (I seek refuge in Allaah from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.
(In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

وَلَوْلَآ إِذْ سَمِعْتُمُوهُ قُلْتُم مَّا يَكُونُ لَنَآ أَن نَّتَكَلَّمَ بِهَٰذَا سُبْحَٰنَكَ هَٰذَا بُهْتَٰنٌ عَظِيمٌ 16  

يَعِظُكُمُ ٱللَّهُ أَن تَعُودُوا۟ لِمِثْلِهِۦٓ أَبَدًا إِن كُنتُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ 17  وَيُبَيِّنُ ٱللَّهُ لَكُمُ ٱلْءَايَٰتِ وَٱللَّهُ عَلِيمٌ حَكِيمٌ 18  

16b.  Glory be to Thee (O Allah)! This is awful calumny. 17.  Allah admonisheth you that ye repeat not the like thereof ever, if ye are (in truth) Believers. 18.  And He expoundeth unto you the Revelations. And Allah is Knower, Wise.

16b.  SubhaanaKa  haazaa  buhtaanun  ‘aziim. 17.  Ya-‘izukumUllaahu  ‘an  ta-‘uuduu  li-mislihiii  ‘abadan  ‘in  kuntum-  Mu’-miniin. 18.  Wa  yu-bayyinUllaahu  la-kumul-‘Aayaat.  Wallaahu  ‘Aliimun  Hakiim.

Commentary

It is commanded: You would have to say after looking that so much great malicious slander has been coming out from the mouths of some people: O my Lord! Glory be to You! Which groundless matter these people have been expounding, that is very harsh slanderous report. There is no truth in it.

Then it is commanded: O Muslims! Listen! Allaah Almighty reproves you with mildness that you should never commit any such error again in future. Having unreasonable doubt concerning any person is against the dignity of the Believers. One should never imagine about mischief from the side of any other. What has happened with you that you have come in the deception of wicked and rebel people, and you have begun to think evil against such people whose morality is a measuring standard for the entire world? The Believers have no concern with such kind of suspicions. Those individuals have been deceived indeed by Satan who think worse against any other.

Allaah Almighty describes you recipes of passing the worldly life with peace and safety. You should bear them in mind. If you did not use those formulae properly then you will lose your reputation and you will be disgraced.

Allaah Almighty has knowledge concerning everything and knows the reality of all. Your welfare is only in it that you should keep the society chaste from evil deeds according to Commandments of your Lord, even that you should never speak any wrong word.
