Commentary
It is commanded: You people can remain chaste and pure when you
give up thinking evil. Spreading immodesty and talking about shameful matters cannot
be the work of anyone else but only those who are wicked and immoral people. It
is the means of preventive measure against indecency and evil that when thought
of these misfortunes grow in mind, that should not be spoken with any other. And
if any such thing comes out by the tongue heedlessly, then one should recite لاَ حَوْلَ وَلاَ قُوَّةَ إِلاَّ بِاللَّهِ (there is no power and no strength except with Allaah)
and استغفار istiġfār
{(AstaghfirUllaah) (I seek forgiveness of Allaah).
And it should never be talked before the people, because spreading the
indecency is the act of the Hypocrites, not of the Believers. The Believers do
never accuse any other without proof.
