Adornment of the nearest heaven

Chapter “Saaaffaat” - (Those who set the Ranks) – 37

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.

 (I seek refuge in Allaah from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.
(In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

إِنَّا زَيَّنَّا ٱلسَّمَآءَ ٱلدُّنْيَا بِزِينَةٍ ٱلْكَوَاكِبِ   6  وَحِفْظًا مِّن كُلِّ شَيْطَٰنٍ مَّارِدٍ 7  لَّا يَسَّمَّعُونَ إِلَى ٱلْمَلَإِ ٱلْأَعْلَىٰ وَيُقْذَفُونَ مِن كُلِّ جَانِبٍ  8 دُحُورًا وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ وَاصِبٌ 9  

                                       

6.  Lo! We have adorned the lowest heaven with the ornament of the stars- 7.  With security from every froward devil. 8.  They cannot listen to the Highest Chiefs for they are pelted from every side- 9.  Outcast, and theirs is a perpetual torment-

6.  ‘InNaa  zayyan-Nas-samaaa-‘addunyaa  bil-ziinati-nil-kawaakib. 7.  Wa  hifzam-min  kulli  Shay-taanim-maarid.  8.  Laa  yassamma-‘uuna  ‘ilal-  Mala-‘il-  ‘A’-laa  wa  yuqzafuuna  min  kulli  jaanib. 9.  Duhuuranw-wa  lahum  ‘azaa-bunw- waasib

Commentary

‘Al-  Mala-‘il-  ‘A’-laa – (the Exalted Assembly of Angels, the Supernal Elite), such assembly where intimate Angels (peace be upon them) gather for thinking and consulting concerning the Commandments of Allaah Almighty.

It is commanded: If you look up, you will see over head the sky filled with glittering stars. This sky is of the world. The world means “the nearest”. There are many other skies also higher than this which cannot be seen. These stars are a decoration of the sky nearest to you. We (Allaah Almighty) have adorned the sky with them. You observe that some of these stars are being broken. These are such flames which come out from amid of them, drive away the evil spirits and rebellious devils from that bright and splendid Place, so that those may not hear the conversation of the exalted and glorious assembly of angels attentively and succeed in knowing the confidential matters. They are pushed back and pelted from every side. They will be hated in the world like this and will not be able to hear the Revelations which are sent down to the Prophets and Messengers by means of Angels (peace be upon them), and the Angels recite, remember and repeat those Revelations before one another after hearing from Allaah Almighty; so that those may be delivered where those are required to be conveyed as in fact. After that, the perpetual torment is ready for the devils in the Hereafter, because they remain involved in damaging good things in the world.
