The end of disbelief (L-2793)

14. None of them but
denied the messengers, so My retribution was deserved. 15. These can expect
only a single scream, from which there is no recovery. 16.
And they say, “Our Lord, hasten Your writ upon us, before the Day of
Account.” |
‘Iqaabi – (My Doom, punishment of crime or sin), actually this word is ‘Iqaabii, but due to “pause” the last “i” has fallen. Origin of this word is ‘aqab, which means “behind”. ‘aqib means “heel”. ‘Aaqibatun is used for “reward or punishment of deeds”.
Fawaaq – (delay, recovery), it aims: There will be no delay in the blast of the Horn, that is to say, the sound of the Shout will be continuous.
It is commanded: All of the groups, which were mentioned earlier,
falsified the Prophets (Peace be upon them) due to their haughtiness and being
involved in presumption. Nothing was visible to them before their pomp and
show, and they chose the way of refractoriness. Consequently they deserved
punishment.
God Almighty commands: I seized them due to punishment of their refractoriness. O Messenger (ﷺ)! The people, who do not listen to you, are nothing before them who were ruined in the Past. Although and while they were physically very strong and powerful, but could not escape from My Doom, then can these people be saved? They have been waiting for a harsh threat, which will be only one thunder. It aims “one blast and sound of the Horn”. It will be very strong and will remain for one year continuously without choking.
After that, it is commanded: When they are being frightened from the Day of Reckoning, that is to say “the Doomsday”, they say with buffoonery: Our Lord! Give us at the spot our conduct sheet, so that the entire story is to be finished today, why must it be delayed until the Day of Resurrection, torment us immediately, we can’t wait!
How great stubbornness is it? It is very big hard-heartedness. Perpetual Doom is not greater than it. Our Lord! Have pity.
