Commentary
Saadatun – (chiefs), this word is plural of sayyidun,
origin of which is siyaadatun. Siyaadatun means “Power, Government,
dominion, rule”.
It is commanded: Those who have been turning their faces away in
the world from the prescribed Way of Allaah Almighty, they will be lying
in the Fire and turning their sideways on the Day of Resurrection. And they
will say there being afflicted: Our Lord, our
masters and dignitaries misguided us during our worldly life. Their status was
higher than us, so we had to follow them according to their orders. They have
drowned our ship, misled and drove us from the Right Path. Our Lord: Give them
double punishment. Deprive them entirely from Your Mercy and curse them with a
great curse. Destroy them Today as they destroyed us in the world!
Those people should take a warning from this
verse; who desire to come forward and become leaders of the Public willingly.
Their all such deeds will be useless for them on the Judgment Day. If they have
turned the people from Islam, then they should come to know clearly that what
will happen with them.
