Favors and Promises of God (L-340)

الشَّيطانُ يَعِدُكُمُ الفَقرَ وَيَأمُرُكُم بِالفَحشاءِ ۖ وَاللَّهُ يَعِدُكُم مَغفِرَةً مِنهُ وَفَضلًا ۗ وَاللَّهُ واسِعٌ عَليمٌ268.  يُؤتِي الحِكمَةَ مَن يَشاءُ ۚ وَمَن يُؤتَ الحِكمَةَ فَقَد أوتِيَ خَيرًا كَثيرًا ۗ وَما يَذَّكَّرُ إِلّا أُولُو الأَلبابِ269.

268.  ‘Ash-Shay-taanu  ya-‘idu- kumul-faqra  wa  ya’-murukum- bil-fahshaaa’.  WAllaahu  ya-‘idukum-magfiratam-minHu  wa  fazlaa.  WAllaahu  Waasi- ‘un  ‘Aliim. 269.  Yu’-til-Hikmata  many-yashaaa’.  Wa  many-yu’-tal-Hikmata  faqad  ‘uutiya  khayran-  kasiira.  Wa maa  yaz-zakkaru  ‘illaaa  ‘ulul-‘albaab.

268. Satan promises you poverty, and urges you to immorality; but God promises you forgiveness from Himself, and grace. God is Embracing and Knowing. 269. He gives wisdom to whomever He wills. Whoever is given wisdom has been given much good. But none pays heed except those with insight.

This verse of Holy Qur’an informs the mankind about a devilish temptation, which can become cause of prevention from spending in the Way of God (‘an-faaq fii SabiiLillaah). In addition, it also describes its refutation and remedy.

Love with wealth and property, inclination towards its collection and tendency towards its spending in a safe mode are weaknesses of the human being. Therefore, he can think that the entire wealth would finish due to spending for the Cause of God; nothing would remain saved with him. He would become poor. God commanded to ignore these kinds of thoughts and temptations that this teaching belongs to Satan (the Devil), so you should not make room for him in your heart.

God, the eternally Besought of all, is Most Compassionate and Bountiful. Whatever you have, He has given that entire and He will give more in future too. Therefore, you should neither fear poorness and nor hesitate from spending in His Way. Being pleased, He will give you more and more.

God gives power to understand these kinds of matters and to find the underlying causes of the matters, to whom He desires. The person, who has been bestowed with such wisdom, he is very fortunate, because it is His very great blessing and wealth. https://youtu.be/7ne0L7t9iM0
