Commentary
Patience, endurance
and forbearance as of Joseph (peace be upon him) is a very difficult matter.
Even then, when His brothers arrived at Egypt and met with Joseph (peace be
upon him) in distressed condition, and they caused to hear Him about their
poverty and insolvency, He (peace be upon him) began to shed a flood of tears
and asked only this by His tongue, “Do you remember that how did you behave
with Joseph and His brother being the ignorant and the unintelligent?”
As soon as they heard these
words of sympathy from the ruler of Egypt
Joseph (peace be upon
him) did not use invectives and reproaches for His brothers due to their
misbehavior and maltreatment.
