Commentary

Taqalluba – (walking, moving, changing own conditions), origin of this word is qal-bun, which means “to do upside down”. The aim from Taqallabun is “to look after the aggregation of devout who offer prayer, or changing the conditions in the prayer as standing, bowing, falling prostrate and sitting conditions, or moving of the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) between those who get up for offering Tahajjud (a form of prayer said after midnight) and encouraging them”.

It is commanded: If O Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him), the people do not obey you even on this, then you should say to them clearly! I hate your works.

Your enemies, whether they are more in numbers and power, can never harm you in any condition. Your Lord is the Mighty as well as the Merciful. Put your trust in Him and proclaim your displeasure from them fearlessly, and remain engaged in the worship of Allaah Almighty.

He has been looking you every time continuously, whether you offer prayer single or along with others and are in the conditions of standing, bowing, sitting or prostrating, and teach them “how to offer prayer”. Assuredly Allaah Almighty is the Hearer and the Knower of everything.
