Commentary
Yajtabii = (He will perfect), it is a
word from ‘ijtabaa’, origin of which is ja-ba-ya. Jabayun
means “to choose a little from the heap”. ‘Ijtabaa’ means “to choose”.
Prophet Jacob (peace be upon him) was already aware
of Joseph’s good habits and well-meaning. When Joseph caused to hear His dream
to His father Jacob (peace be upon them), He understood that Joseph was a
hopeful child and He would be a great person in future, because entire outward
and inward signs were indicating that He was able to be a leader of all.
Therefore, after advising Him, (that telling about the dream to brothers is not
good, so it should be kept secret), Jacob said to Joseph (peace be upon them):
I am sure that you are going to become a chosen servant of Allah Almighty, that
is to say; you will be bestowed with prophet-hood, and you will excel in
sagacity and intelligence from your all brothers. You will interpret correctly
after hearing the dreams from the people, and you will understand easily the
consequence after observing the circumstances. Care of you, those favors will
also be perfected on the members of your family, which were perfected
particularly on your forefathers Abraham and Isaac (peace be upon them). And
after rescuing your grandfather Abraham (peace be upon him) from calamities,
Allah Almighty settled him in Syria
