Commentary
Nasfun – (to scatter little by little), the word “lanansi-fanna”
is also from the same origin.
Samirii confessed that after looking sufficient useless
gold, he himself thought that a calf should be made and put in it that handful clay
which was seized from the footsteps of the Angel. When he invented a calf, he
saw an astonishing wonder by mixing up those both things (gold and clay) that a
voice as of living calf began to come out from the idol of self-made calf. Then
he excited the Children of Israel for adoration of the calf. It was very
capital offence.
Today too, those people should learn from it; who wish to turn
the people unto their baseless thoughts covered with religious color; who
desire to amend the commandments mentioned in Holy Qur’an and Hadith
{Sayings of the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him)}.
Moses (peace be upon him) commanded: It is your punishment that
you should continue saying to the people during your entire worldly life “Behold!
Touch me not! He will be suffering from fever who will touch me!” It is the
punishment of this life. Moreover, there is another promise for you which cannot
be averted from you, that is the punishment of the Day of Resurrection. And your
this adored (the calf) will be broken and burnt before your eyes and we will
scatter its dust over the sea, so that its name and mark is removed.
Verily, new traditions and customs; included in the religion by
the advise of any person; should be extirpated like this.
