Judgement of Disputes (L-2953)
|
وَجَزَٰٓؤُا۟ سَيِّئَةٍ سَيِّئَةٌ مِّثْلُهَا فَمَنْ عَفَا وَأَصْلَحَ فَأَجْرُهُۥ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ إِنَّهُۥ لَا يُحِبُّ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ 40 وَلَمَنِ ٱنتَصَرَ بَعْدَ ظُلْمِهِۦ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ مَا عَلَيْهِم مِّن سَبِيلٍ 41 إِنَّمَا ٱلسَّبِيلُ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ يَظْلِمُونَ ٱلنَّاسَ وَيَبْغُونَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ بِغَيْرِ ٱلْحَقِّ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ 42 وَلَمَن صَبَرَ وَغَفَرَ إِنَّ ذَٰلِكَ لَمِنْ عَزْمِ ٱلْأُمُورِ 43 |

40. Wa jazaaa-‘u sayyi-‘atin sayyi-‘atum-misluhaa. Faman ‘afaa wa ‘aslaha fa-‘ajruhuu ‘alAllaah. ‘InnaHuu laa yuhib-buz-zaalimiin. 41. Wa lamanin-tasara ba’-da zulmihii fa-‘ulaaa-‘ika maa ‘alayhim-min sabiil. 42. ‘Innamas-sabiilu ‘alal-laziina yazli-muunan-naasa wa yab-guuna fil-‘arzi bigayril-Haqq. ‘Ulaaa-‘ika lahum ‘Azaabun ‘aliim. 43. Wa
laman sabara wa
gafara ‘inna zaalika
lamin ‘azmil-‘umuur. (Section 4/5) |

40. The
repayment of a bad action is one equivalent to it. But whoever pardons and
makes reconciliation, his reward lies with God. He does not love the unjust. 41. As
for those who retaliate after being wronged, there is no blame on them. 42.
Blame lies on those who wrong people, and commit aggression in the land
without right. These will have a painful punishment. 43. But whoever endures patiently and forgives—that is a sign of
real resolve. |
It is commanded: The retribution for an evil act is an evil one like it, that is to say, equal, neither less and nor more. But whoever pardons and makes reconciliation - his reward is due from God Almighty. He does not like the wrongdoers. And whoever avenges himself after having been wronged - those have not any cause for blame upon them. The cause is only against the ones who wrong the people and spread disturbance upon the earth without right. Those will have a painful punishment. There is no doubt in it that whoever is patient and forgives them who oppress, he has intention and courage to do great works.
