67. And those who
disbelieve say: When we have become dust like our fathers, shall we verily be
brought forth (again)?
68. We were promised
this, forsooth; we and our fathers. (All) this is naught but fables of the
men of old.

Commentary
It was described in the previous lesson that nobody knows that
when the Day of Resurrection will come. Only Allaah Almighty knows it, because
save Him, no one have knowledge concerning the Unseen. Many of the people were
involved; sometimes in doubt and sometimes they denied.
It has been commanded in this verse that the people who do not believe
in Allaah Almighty, cannot be aware of the truth concerning the
Hereafter. They say: There is no doubt that we have to die, but how may we have
belief that when we became dust after death, then we and our parents who died long
ago, will be reproduced after bringing them out from the earth. These are legends
only which we heard during the whole life. And before us, our ancestors heard
the same like us. Thousands of centuries have passed, but neither we heard and
nor saw that any mankind was raised again after death. Someone would have said
any time that the human beings would be brought forth again after death, their
deeds would be reckoned and they would be rewarded or punished according to
their deeds. Afterwards, they began to express their opinions about it. The people
multiplied their words, made stories and by relating; posteriors listened to
the stories of the formers. The same stories (God forbid) have been recorded in
Qur’an, whereas there is no reality in it, so none should be entangled
in this dispute willing or not willing.
