Summary of Suratun-Naml

Chapter “Naml”- (The Ant) - 27

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.

 (I seek refuge in Allaah from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.
(In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

Three matters have been manifested in this Chapter:

1.  Allaah Almighty, Who is the Creator of the mankind, established a lineage of Messenger-hood for his guidance in this world. His Prophets (peace be upon them) used to come among the human beings along with His Message from time to time; and the matters of their well being explained before them. Being involved in worldly engagements, the mankind forgets real matters and his desires pull him repeatedly from hither to thither. Messengers of Allaah Almighty (peace be upon them) caused to understand him that he should control own desires and live in the world according to his Creator’s Will. Last link of the lineage of Prophets (peace be upon them) is Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him), towards whom Holy Qur’an has been revealed and it is a source of mankind’s guidance for always.

2.  Circumstances of some Prophets (peace be upon them) and their folks have been described in this Chapter for showing plainly the way of Prophet-hood that the people who disobeyed their Prophets, were consequently ruined. The next matter is to believe in the Day of Judgment, without which a mankind cannot keep his character in accordance with the requirement in the world. He considers that the world is everything and he takes interest in worldly matters only, by which rivalry is born, and establishment of peace becomes difficult in the world.

3.  Third matter is “Recognition of the Unity (Oneness of God)”. That is to say, the Creator of this world and the Sustainer of its all living beings is Allaah Almighty. He gave sense to the mankind and spread Portents of His Omnipotence before him. Now it is the work of human sense that it should know Allaah Almighty, teach the mankind bowing before Him with humility and describe that “worshipping any other than Allaah Almighty is base camp of destruction. It is incumbent upon the mankind that he should be saved from the Paganism”.

Acceptance of first two matters become easy after having belief in Allaah Almighty and by conjecturing correctly concerning His Power. It can be understood easily that He created the mankind and arranged for his guidance perfectly according to his internal and external capabilities.

For saving the mankind from deviations, Allaah Almighty sent His Messengers (peace be upon them). At the end, He recorded summary of the teachings of all ancient Scriptures in Holy Qur’an, appointed Muhammad as the last Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) and bestowed him this last Scripture.

In the Hereafter, deeds of all the mankind will be examined in the light of Holy Qur’an and they will be retaliated suitably.
