Worse condition of disbelievers (L-2873)

وَقِهِمُ ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ وَمَن تَقِ ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ يَوْمَئِذٍ فَقَدْ رَحِمْتَهُۥ وَذَٰلِكَ هُوَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْعَظِيمُ9  إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ يُنَادَوْنَ لَمَقْتُ ٱللَّهِ أَكْبَرُ مِن مَّقْتِكُمْ أَنفُسَكُمْ إِذْ تُدْعَوْنَ إِلَى ٱلْإِيمَٰنِ فَتَكْفُرُونَ 10

9.  Wa  qihimus-sayyi-‘aat.  Wa  man  Taqis-sayyi-‘aati  Yawma-‘izin-  faqad  rahimTah.  Wa  zaalika  huwal-Fawzul-‘aziim. (Section 1/6) 10.  ‘Innallaziina  kafaruu  yunaadawna  lamaqtUllaahi  ‘akbaru  mim-maqtikum  ‘an-fusakum  ‘iz  tud-‘awna  ‘ilal-‘iimaani  fatakfuruun.

9. And shield them from the evil deeds. Whomever You shield from the evil deeds, on that Day, You have had mercy on him. That is the supreme achievement.” 10. Those who disbelieved will be addressed, “The loathing of God is greater than your loathing of yourselves—for you were invited to the faith, but you refused.”

Maqtun – (abhorrence, hatred, loathing).

In the beginning, there is remaining part of Angels’ supplication continued from the last. At the end they pray: Our Lord! Forgive mistakes of Your obedient Believers, their fathers, their wives and their descendants, and admit them into the Gardens, guide them in the world so that they escape from wrong deeds and have not to suffer the punishment of their sins on the Day of Resurrection. It is really Your great mercy on him to whom You saved from sins, and that is the great attainment.

After that, it is commanded: the people who did not believe in God Almighty during their worldly life, they will be addressed on the Day of Resurrection: As you have been imprecating yourselves after observing the Doom Today, surely God Almighty used to invoke a curse upon you like this and was disgusted from you in the world. When you were invited to the faith, you did not care. Your today’s loathing of yourselves is nothing before the loathing of God Almighty upon you in the world, because you refused the invitation of His Religion.

Supplication of Angels (L-2872)

فَٱغْفِرْ لِلَّذِينَ تَابُوا۟ وَٱتَّبَعُوا۟ سَبِيلَكَ وَقِهِمْ عَذَابَ ٱلْجَحِيمِ 7b  رَبَّنَا وَأَدْخِلْهُمْ جَنَّٰتِ عَدْنٍ ٱلَّتِى وَعَدتَّهُمْ وَمَن صَلَحَ مِنْ ءَابَآئِهِمْ وَأَزْوَٰجِهِمْ وَذُرِّيَّٰتِهِمْ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ 8

7b.  fagfir  lillaziina  taabuu  wattaba-‘uu  sabiilaKa  wa  qihim  ‘Azaabal-Jahiim.   8.  Rabbanaa  wa  ‘adkhil-hum  Jannaati  ‘Adni-nillatii  wa-‘at-tahum  wa  man-  salaha  min  ‘aabaaa-‘ihim  wa  ‘azwaajihim  wa  zurriyaatihim.  ‘InnaKa  ‘Antal-  ‘Aziizul-  Hakiim.

7b.  so forgive those who repent and follow Your path, and protect them from the agony of the Blaze. 8. And admit them, Our Lord, into the Gardens of Eternity, which You have promised them, and the righteous among their parents, and their spouses, and their offspring. You are indeed the Almighty, the Most Wise.

Therefore, we ask earnestly to forgive errors and omissions of the people who incline towards You, repent and follow the way, which You have determined for the mankind, with free-will and pleasure. Admit them to green Gardens of perpetual residence. O Lord! Your these obedient slaves looked always towards You in the world and were absorbed in religious meditation. Therefore, protect them from the punishment of Hellfire on the Day of Resurrection and admit them into the Gardens of Eternity which You have promised them along with that whoever was righteous among their fathers, their spouses and their descendants. You are Owner of real Dignity and Power. You created everything as You desired because You are Aware of everything’s origin.

Condition of the Believers (L-2871)

ٱلَّذِينَ يَحْمِلُونَ ٱلْعَرْشَ وَمَنْ حَوْلَهُۥ يُسَبِّحُونَ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّهِمْ وَيُؤْمِنُونَ بِهِۦ وَيَسْتَغْفِرُونَ لِلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ رَبَّنَا وَسِعْتَ كُلَّ شَىْءٍ رَّحْمَةً وَعِلْمًا 7a

7a.  ‘Allaziina  yahmiluunal-‘Arsha  wa  man  hawlahuu  yusabbihuuna  bi-Hamdi  Rabbihim  wa  yu’-minuuna  bihii  wa  yastagfiruuna  lillaziina  ‘aamanuu.  Rabbanaa  wasi’-ta  kulla  shay-‘ir-Rahma-tanw-wa  ‘ilman-

7a.  Those who carry the Throne, and those around it, glorify their Lord with praise, and believe in Him, and ask for forgiveness for those who believe: “Our Lord, You have encompassed everything in mercy and knowledge;

Wasi’-ta – (You have encompassed), this word has passed in Suratul-Baqarah. Was-‘un means “to surround, to encircle”.

Circumstances of those people were described earlier who did not believe in God Almighty during old times. It has also been declared openly that circumstances of the people, who are going to deny God Almighty presently, will also be the same very soon, and they too will be thrown into the Hell. There is mention about those people in this verse who believe in God Almighty.

It is commanded: The Angels (Peace be upon them) who carry the Throne of God Almighty and those who are around it, God knows that how many they are, glorify their Lord with praise every time and say that He is Pure from every fault or badness; He is Owner of all excellences. They believe in Him wholeheartedly. They have another work to do which is that they ask forgiveness for those who believe in God Almighty and obey His Commands. They pray: Our Lord, You know and look after everything, nothing is out of Your knowledge. Your Mercy has encompassed everything. Your Forgiveness and Bounty is for every creature every time.

Wrong deeds of deniers (L-2870)

وَهَمَّتْ كُلُّ أُمَّةٍۭ بِرَسُولِهِمْ لِيَأْخُذُوهُ وَجَٰدَلُوا۟ بِٱلْبَٰطِلِ لِيُدْحِضُوا۟ بِهِ ٱلْحَقَّ فَأَخَذْتُهُمْ فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عِقَابِ 5b  وَكَذَٰلِكَ حَقَّتْ كَلِمَتُ رَبِّكَ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓا۟ أَنَّهُمْ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلنَّارِ 6

5b.  Wa  hammat  kullu  ‘umma-tim-  bi-rasuulihim  liya’-khuzuuhu  wa  jaadaluu  bil-baatili  liyud-hizuu  bihil-Haqqa  fa-‘akhaztuhum.  Fakayfa  kaana  ‘Iqaab. 6.  Wa  kazaalika  haqqat  Kalimatu  Rabbika  ‘alallaziina  kafaruuu  ‘annahum  ‘As-haabun-Naar.

5b.  Every community plotted against their messenger, to capture him. And they argued with falsehood, to defeat with it the truth. But I seized them. What a punishment it was! 6. Thus the sentence of your Lord became realized against those who disbelieve, that they are to be inmates of the Fire.

Those people should take warning from the circumstances of ancient people who do not believe in God Almighty nowadays and deny His Revelations. They had chosen the same way which these people have been doing. They did not care the Sayings of the Prophets (Peace be upon them), rejected their admonitions, not only this but those mischievous and wicked people began to trouble them. And their arrogance increased so much that even they killed some of the Prophets (Peace be upon them). They falsified the truth described by the Prophets; against their self-fabricated, false and baseless things and said: That is right which we say, and sayings of the Prophets (Peace be upon them) are false. At last what happened with them?

God Almighty commands: I seized them and punished very severely. They were destroyed very badly. Their signs and ruins have been telling today that the Doom of God Almighty is very severe. Like this, for such people who have been falsifying Our Messenger (ﷺ) at this time and do not believe in Holy Qur’an, for them; a rule has been established that besides the punishment of this world, they will be tormented in the Hell too.

مَا يُجَٰدِلُ فِىٓ ءَايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ فَلَا يَغْرُرْكَ تَقَلُّبُهُمْ فِى ٱلْبِلَٰدِ 4   كَذَّبَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ وَٱلْأَحْزَابُ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِمْ 5a

4.  Maa  yujaadilu  fiii  ‘AayaaTillaahi  ‘illallaziina  kafaruu  falaa  yagrurka  taqallubuhum  fil-bilaad. 5a.  Kazzabat  qablahum  Qawmu  Nuuhinw-wal-‘Ahzaabu  mim-  ba’-dihim.

4. None argues against God’s revelations except those who disbelieve. So do not be impressed by their activities in the land. 5a. Before them the people of Noah rejected the truth, as did the confederates after them.

While it is the reality that Holy Qur’an has been sent down by God Almighty, Who is the Greatest and has Magnificent Attributes, then it was required that no sensible person had to disbelieve in it, but alas! Some are such people who have doubt in its acceptance. Understand it carefully that these are the people who did not know God Almighty.

It is commanded: No one disputes concerning the Revelations of God Almighty and nor doubts in its truth. But how will they believe in the Commandments of Holy Qur’an who disbelieve in Him. Certainly they will produce doubts of various sorts into them and argue against God’s Portents. So O Our Messenger (ﷺ): Do not be impressed when you observe that such people deny God Almighty, try to reduce the value of His verses, even then they move throughout the land happily, eat and earn carelessly. They will have to suffer the consequence of their denial. You must not be deceived by their prosperity and easy circumstances. Surely they will be tormented severely on an appointed Day. Behold! Wonderful names of God (L-2868)

Chapter “MU’-MIN” - (The Believer) – 40

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.

 (I seek refuge in Allaah from Satan the outcast)
Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.
(In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

حمٓ   1   تَنزِيلُ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلْعَلِيمِ 2   غَافِرِ ٱلذَّنۢبِ وَقَابِلِ ٱلتَّوْبِ شَدِيدِ ٱلْعِقَابِ ذِى ٱلطَّوْلِ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ إِلَيْهِ ٱلْمَصِيرُ 3

1.  Haa-Miiim. 2.  Tanziilul-Kitaabi  minAllaahil-‘Aziizil-‘Aliimi. 3.  Gaafiriz-Zambi  wa  Qaabilit-Tawbi  Shadiidil- ‘Iqaabi,  Zit-Tawl.  Laaa  ‘ilaaha  ‘illaa  Huu.  ‘Ilayhil-Masiir.

1. Ha, Meem. 2. The sending down of the Scripture is from God the Almighty, the Omniscient. 3. Forgiver of sins, Accepter of repentance, Severe in punishment, Bountiful in bounty. There is no god but He. To Him is the ultimate return.

Zit-Tawli – (the Bountiful in Bounty, Owner of Abundance), Zut-Tawl means – That; Who has Power to give everything to everyone in all respect. Epithets of God Almighty have been mentioned in this verse, which are helpful in knowing correct concept concerning Him like ‘Aayatul-Kursii.

It is commanded: When the world appeared from the Unseen Screen according to old plan of God Almighty, and making arrangement of mankind’s guidance became compulsory in the world, then Holy Qur’an was revealed. God Almighty is Who arranged to send it down, Who is Most Powerful and Magnificent. He knows very well about everything. He forgives mistakes, sins, errors and omissions of His slaves. He is Acceptor of their repentance, but punishes severely to the rebellious also. He possesses everything and fulfills requirements of everyone. There is none who may be worthy of worship except Him. He Alone is God, Worshipped and Lord. At last every individual will have to return to Him.

‘Aayatul-Kursii (Chapter 2: 255), first verses of this Chapter, primary verses of Suratul-Hadiid (Chapter 57), last verses of Suratul-Hashr (Chapter 59) and Suratul-‘Ikhlaas (Chapter 112) are particularly best means of knowing God Almighty.
