Towards the Hell (L-2862)

وَسِيقَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰ جَهَنَّمَ زُمَرًا حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا جَآءُوهَا فُتِحَتْ أَبْوَٰبُهَا وَقَالَ لَهُمْ خَزَنَتُهَآ أَلَمْ يَأْتِكُمْ رُسُلٌ مِّنكُمْ يَتْلُونَ عَلَيْكُمْ ءَايَٰتِ رَبِّكُمْ وَيُنذِرُونَكُمْ لِقَآءَ يَوْمِكُمْ هَٰذَا 71a |

71a. Wa
siiqal-laziina kafaruuu ‘ilaa
Jahannama zumaraa. Hattaa
‘izaa jaaa-‘uuhaa futihat
‘abwaabuhaa wa qaala
lahum khazanatu-haaa ‘alam
ya’-tikum rusulum-minkum yatluuna
‘alaykum ‘Aayaati Rabbikum
wa yunzi-ruunakum Liqaaa-‘a
Yawmikum haazaa. |

71a. Those who
disbelieved will be driven to Hell in throngs. Until, when they have reached
it, and its gates are opened, its keepers will say to them, “Did not
messengers from among you come to you, reciting to you the revelations of
your Lord, and warning you of the meeting of this Day of yours?” |
Zumarun – (groups, companies, classes), this word is plural of zumratun. This word is the name of the same Chapter.
Khazanatun – (warders, keepers), it is plural of khaazinun, which has come out from khaznun. Khaznun means “to guard, to defend, to gather”. Khazaanatun means “a treasury, place of depositing”.
It is commanded: The people who were infidels in the world, that is to say, they did not believe in God Almighty, will be separated in groups and driven to the Hell. Doors of the Hell will be opened when they will reach it. Its keepers will say to them: How did you reach here? It is a place of pain, grief and afflictions. The person who entered in it, relinquished from rest and peace. Neither you can die here; nor live in actual meanings. You have to do nothing but to grieve and to suffer. Did there not come to you Allaah’s Messengers (Peace be upon them) from yourselves, reciting to you the verses of your Lord and warning you of the meeting of this Day of yours, that punishment of disbelief is the Hell?
