Everything is of God

Everything is of God (L-2804)

32b.  Hattaa  tawaarat  bil-hijaab.

33.  Rudduuhaa  ‘alayy.  Fatafiqa  mas-ham-  bissuuqi  wal-‘a’-naaq.

34.  Wa  laqad  fatannaa  Sulaymaana  wa  ‘alqayNaa  ‘alaa  kursiyyihii  jasadan  summa  ‘anaab.

32b.  until it disappeared behind the veil.

33. Bring them back to me.” And he began caressing their legs and necks.

34. We tested Solomon, and placed a body on his throne; then he repented.

Tawaarat – (the sun disappeared)

Mas-humasah (drawing the hand over), here it aims “he began to cut”.

Suuq – (legs), this word is plural of saaq, which means “calf of the leg.

Jasad – (body)

Kursii – (throne, fixed place of sitting).

When horses were produced before Solomon (Peace be upon him) for making a display, he engaged in looking them so much and was very thankful to God Almighty that He gave him such horses, by which he tried to remove mischief from the world. This process took so much time that the sun set and he could not offer prayer of that time. Although he was involved in a good work but the prayer of the time was more compulsory and due to its delay he was shocked. He ordered: Bring the horses back to me! Then he set about striking their legs and necks. Its reason is: It is better to remove the thing which makes the mankind careless from the remembrance of God Almighty.

After that, it is commanded: We certainly tried Solomon (Peace be upon him) because he became careless from Our remembrance for awhile and placed on his throne a body of incomplete babe, which reminded him his error and he repented wholeheartedly.
