Realizing oneself at wrong (L-2813)

وَقَالُوا۟ مَا لَنَا لَا نَرَىٰ رِجَالًا كُنَّا نَعُدُّهُم مِّنَ ٱلْأَشْرَارِ
62 أَتَّخَذْنَٰهُمْ سِخْرِيًّا أَمْ زَاغَتْ عَنْهُمُ ٱلْأَبْصَٰرُ
63 إِنَّ ذَٰلِكَ لَحَقٌّ تَخَاصُمُ أَهْلِ ٱلنَّارِ
64 |

62. Wa qaaluu maa lanaa laa naraa rijaalan- kunnaa na-‘ud-duhum-minal-‘ashraar. 63. ‘Attakhaznaahum sikhriyyan ‘am zaagat ‘anhumul-‘absaar. 64.
‘Inna zaalika lahaqqun-
takhaasumu ‘Ahlin-Naar. (Section 4/13)

62. And
they will say, “What is it with us that we do not see men we used to count among
the wicked? 63. Did
we take them for mockery, or have our eyes swerved from them? 64. This is certainly true—the feuding of the people of the
Fire. |
Sikhriyyun and Sukhriyyun - (taking someone for a laughing-stock), this word relates to sakhar and sukhar, which means “Unjustly forcing someone to do something, jesting someone unnecessarily or compelling him into service without pay, to deal someone with such a way which he does not deserve”.
Zaagatun - (mistaken), it is past feminine from the word zaygun. Zaygun means, “crookedness, to be crooked”. This word has passed in Suratul-‘Anfaal.
By saying this, the Hellish people will think suddenly: Where are those people who used to live in the world as abstinent and stay away from the evils? And they used to remain upset from others because they were running behind the impure desires of the world? They used to say: All the things of the world are mortal. If you die today then tomorrow will be the next day, then why do you quarrel with one another for these things? We used to say to them: You are the real riots who produce resistance in the freedom of the people and prevent them from enjoying in the world.
Today those people are not visible here. Did we really use to jest with them wrongfully and call them wicked, whereas they didn’t deserve this title? Then they will watch here and there that they would be hiding somewhere, otherwise it would be worst if they would have been enjoying in heaven due to their belief, and we have been crying on our fate.
After that, it is commanded: The wrangling of the people of the Fire is certainly true without any doubt.
