The need to be vigilant (L-2816)

فَإِذَا سَوَّيْتُهُۥ وَنَفَخْتُ فِيهِ مِن رُّوحِى فَقَعُوا۟ لَهُۥ سَٰجِدِينَ 72   فَسَجَدَ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ كُلُّهُمْ أَجْمَعُونَ 73   إِلَّآ إِبْلِيسَ ٱسْتَكْبَرَ وَكَانَ مِنَ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ 74

72.  Fa-‘izaa  sawwaytuhuu  wa  nafakhtu  fiihi  mir-Ruuhii  faqa-‘uu  lahuu  saajidiin. 73.  Fasajadal-malaaa-‘ikatu  kulluhum  ‘ajma-‘uun. 74.  ‘Illaaa  ‘Ibliis.  ‘Istakbara  wa  kaana  minal-kaafiriin.

72. When I have formed him, and breathed into him of My spirit, fall prostrate before him. 73. So the angels fell prostrate, all of them. 74. Except for Satan. He was too proud, and one of the faithless.

God Almighty commanded to the Angels (Peace be upon them): Fall towards him in prostration when I have formed, proportioned his body, breathed into it of My created soul, ordered him “Be alive! and he has been living. It will be a declaration that by the Command of God Almighty, you will be his supporters for his betterment. Therefore, when that time came, Adam (Peace be upon him) became a living mankind, then the Angels (Peace be upon them) obeyed the Command of God Almighty, fell prostrate before him and proved that they were real obedient of the Lord. Entire Angels (Peace be upon them), who have been performing various duties in the universe, bowed before Adam, but Iblis stood-still at own place and did not fall prostrate before Adam (Peace be upon him) because he kept the mire in mind; from which body of Adam was created.

He thought: My body has been created from fire which is very fine thing. How can I bow down before this body of dust? In fact he was not an angel. He used to worship God Almighty in abundance, so he got success in making place among the Angels. He did not understand that the Angels, who were better than him because they were created from light, while they all fell prostrate before Adam, then there was no space for denying by the creature of the fire. He did not think that very splendid spirit has been kept in this body of clay.

By denying from bowing, he disclosed that he is a criticizer on the Command of God Almighty and that he will disbelieve without excuse.
