Punishment of disobedience (L-2818)

قَالَ فَٱخْرُجْ مِنْهَا فَإِنَّكَ رَجِيمٌ 77   وَإِنَّ عَلَيْكَ لَعْنَتِىٓ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ ٱلدِّينِ 78   قَالَ رَبِّ فَأَنظِرْنِىٓ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ 79   قَالَ فَإِنَّكَ مِنَ ٱلْمُنظَرِينَ 80 إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ ٱلْوَقْتِ ٱلْمَعْلُومِ 81

77.  Qaala  fakhruj  minhaa  fa-‘innaka  rajiim. 78.  Wa  ‘inna  ‘alayka  la’-natiii  ‘ilaa  Yawmid-Diin. 79.  Qaala  Rabbi  fa-‘anzirniii  ‘ilaa  Yawmi  yub-‘asuun. 80.  Qaala  fa-‘innaka  minal-munzariin. 81.  ‘Ilaa  Yawmil-Waqtil-  Ma’-luum.

77. He said, “Then get out of here! You are an outcast! 78. And My curse will be upon you until the Day of Judgment.” 79. He said, “Lord, defer me until the Day they are resurrected.” 80. He said, “You are one of those deferred. 81. Until the Day of the Time Appointed.”

‘Anzir – (Reprieve!, give respite!),

‘Al-Waqtil-  Ma’-luum – (the time well-known), that is to say, Until the first trumpet will be blown and the world will be ruined.

Iblis did not fall prostrate on the Command of God Almighty like Angels (Peace be upon them), but he began to criticize on the Word of Command and said: How can I believe unless I understand? He was declared disobedient on his answer.

It is commanded: When he told reason of bowing not down, then he was declared “Rejected” immediately. What does it mean that a servant begin to raise objections on his Master? It was commanded to him: Get out of Paradise! You have been expelled from Our Court for ever. Indeed, My curse is upon you until the Day of Recompense. After that, your abode will be Hell.

Being hopeless, Iblis said: My Lord, then reprieve me until the Day human beings are resurrected. God Almighty said, "So indeed, you are reprieved until the Day well-known, that is to say, when the world will be ruined after blowing the trumpet first time. Request of Iblis was that he must be reprieved, neither be seized and nor be punished until blowing of the trumpet second time; when the dead bodies will come back to life again after death. But he was informed: Respite given to you will be over when this world will go to an end. After that there will be nothing for you but torment only.
