Arguments of a woman (L-3204)

Chapter “MUJAADALAH” - (She who disputes) - 58

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.

 (I seek refuge in Allaah from Satan the outcast)
Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.
(In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

قَدْ سَمِعَ ٱللَّهُ قَوْلَ ٱلَّتِى تُجَٰدِلُكَ فِى زَوْجِهَا وَتَشْتَكِىٓ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ وَٱللَّهُ يَسْمَعُ تَحَاوُرَكُمَآ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ سَمِيعٌۢ بَصِيرٌ 1  ٱلَّذِينَ يُظَٰهِرُونَ مِنكُم مِّن نِّسَآئِهِم مَّا هُنَّ أُمَّهَٰتِهِمْ إِنْ أُمَّهَٰتُهُمْ إِلَّا ٱلَّٰٓـِٔى وَلَدْنَهُمْ وَإِنَّهُمْ لَيَقُولُونَ مُنكَرًا مِّنَ ٱلْقَوْلِ وَزُورًا وَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَعَفُوٌّ غَفُورٌ 2

1.  QAD  SAMI-‘ALLAAHU  qaw-lallatii  tujaadiluka  fii  zawjihaa  wa  tashtakiii  ‘ilAllaah.  Wallaahu  yasma-'u  tahaa-wurakumaa.  ‘InnAllaaha  Samii-'um-Basiir. 2.  ‘Allaziina  yuzaahiruuna  minkum-min-nisaaa-'ihim  maa  hunna  ‘umma-haatihim.  ‘In  ‘umma-haatuhum  illallaaa-'ii  walad-nahum.  Wa  ‘innahum  la-yaquuluuna  munkaram-minal-qawli  wa  zuuraa.  Wa  ‘innAllaaha  la-'Afuwwun-Gafuur.

1. Allah has heard the saying of her that disputes with you (Muhammad) concerning her husband, and complains unto Allah. And Allah hears your colloquy. Lo! Allah is Hearer, Knower. 2. Such of you as put away your wives (by saying they are as their mothers) - They are not their mothers; none are their mothers except those who gave them birth - they indeed utter an ill word and a lie. And lo! Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.

It is commanded: The woman (Khawlah bint Sa’lab), who came to you O Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) and argued concerning her husband (Aws bin Al-Saamit), and she cried with humility before Allaah Almighty and directed her complaint to Him, certainly He has heard her speech. And Allaah Almighty was hearing all dialogues between both of you. Indeed, Allaah Almighty is Hearer and Knower of everything. Listen! Those who pronounce “Zihaar (thihar)” (wives are as their mothers or are for them like their mother’s back) among you to separate from their wives - they are not consequently their mothers. Their mothers are none but those who gave birth to them. And indeed, they are saying an objectionable statement and a falsehood. They should beg before Allaah Almighty to be pardoned. He is Pardoning and Forgiving. That woman will remain wife of her husband customarily. However he cannot touch her, unless he pays the ransom.
