Likeness of the world (L-3195)
|
كَمَثَلِ غَيْثٍ أَعْجَبَ ٱلْكُفَّارَ نَبَاتُهُۥ ثُمَّ يَهِيجُ فَتَرَىٰهُ مُصْفَرًّا ثُمَّ يَكُونُ حُطَٰمًا وَفِى ٱلْءَاخِرَةِ عَذَابٌ شَدِيدٌ وَمَغْفِرَةٌ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَرِضْوَٰنٌ وَمَا ٱلْحَيَوٰةُ ٱلدُّنْيَآ إِلَّا مَتَٰعُ ٱلْغُرُورِ 20b سَابِقُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰ مَغْفِرَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ وَجَنَّةٍ عَرْضُهَا كَعَرْضِ ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ 21a |

20b. Kamasali gaysin ‘a'-jabal- kuffaara nabaatuhuu summa yahiiju fataraahu musfarran summa yakuunu hutaamaa. Wa fil-‘Aakhirati 'azaabun shadiidunw-wa Mag-firatum-minAllaahi wa Rizwaan. Wa mal-hayaatud-dunyaaa- ‘illaa mataa-'ul-guruur. 21a. Saabiquuu
‘ilaa
Magfiratim-mir-Rabbikum wa Jannatin
'arzuhaa
ka-'arzis-samaaa-'i wal-‘arzi, |

20b. as the likeness of vegetation after rain,
whereof the growth is pleasing to the husbandman, but afterward it dries up
and you see it turning yellow, then it becomes straw. And in the Hereafter
there is grievous punishment, and (also) forgiveness from Allah and His good
pleasure, whereas the life of the world is but matter of illusion. 21a. Race
one with another for forgiveness from your Lord and a Garden whereof the
breadth is as the breadth of the heavens and the earth, |
Kuffaaru – (tillers), actual meaning of this word is “infidels, idolaters”, but here it aims “cultivators, farmers, agriculturists”.
It is commanded: Consider the likeness of the world as
vegetation and growth of green plants after a rain which pleases the tillers.
Then crops bloom and prosper. After that those wither and become yellow, and
then the animals crush under their feet and the crops are powdered. Like the
same, bloom of the world also is for a few days, which at last will go to an
end. The Hereafter will begin where two things are ready – severe torment (in
the Hell) and forgiveness including willingness of Allaah Almighty (in
the Heaven). The mankind will fall under the power of anyone of the both. This
world will be perished and whatsoever is visible here, is attractive only
temporarily. People are deceived by looking worldly things that these are
lasting things, whereas the mankind is buried after death with empty hands. So
then, what will you do? Consequently, it is better for you that you should run
towards your Lord and think for attaining the Paradise, space of which is as the
space between the heavens and the earth. You will be able to do as you will
wish without any restriction.
