Be not like the wrongdoers (L-3193)

فَطَالَ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلْأَمَدُ فَقَسَتْ قُلُوبُهُمْ وَكَثِيرٌ مِّنْهُمْ فَٰسِقُونَ 16b  ٱعْلَمُوٓا۟ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُحْىِ ٱلْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهَا قَدْ بَيَّنَّا لَكُمُ ٱلْءَايَٰتِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ 17  إِنَّ ٱلْمُصَّدِّقِينَ وَٱلْمُصَّدِّقَٰتِ وَأَقْرَضُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ قَرْضًا حَسَنًا يُضَٰعَفُ لَهُمْ وَلَهُمْ أَجْرٌ كَرِيمٌ 18

16b.  fataala  'alay-himul-‘amadu  faqasat  quluubuhum.  Wa  kasiirum- minhum faasiquun. 17.  ‘I'-lamuuu  ‘annAllaaha  yuhyil-‘arza  ba'-da  mawtihaa.  Qad bayyannaa  lakumul-‘Aayaati  la-'allakum  ta'-qiluun. 18.  ‘Innal-Mussaddiqiina  wal-Mussaddiqaati  wa  ‘aqrazUllaaha  Qarzan  hasa-nany-yuzaa-'afu  lahum  wa  lahum  ‘ajrun-kariim.

16b.  but the term was prolonged for them and so their hearts were hardened, and many of them are evil-livers. 17. Know that Allah quickens the earth after its death. We have made clear Our revelations for you, that haply you may understand. 18. Lo! Those who give alms, both men and women, and lend unto Allah a goodly loan, it will be doubled for them, and theirs will be a rich reward.

It is commanded: O Muslims! You must not be like them who were before you, Messengers (peace be upon them) of Allaah Almighty brought Scripture for their guidance and taught them good manners. In the beginning, righteous people obeyed them and passed their lives according to their instructions. But when many days passed, the people gave up doing good works and their hearts had become hard. They were involved in worldly matters and went astray from the Right Path; shown by Prophets (peace be upon them). Most of them began to disobey openly.

If you will obey the Commands of Allaah Almighty, He will prosper you that way as He makes the dry and dead land fresh and active. If you use your sense properly, you will understand from this similitude that anonymous and base people became renowned and esteemed by obeying the Commandments of Allaah Almighty.

Bear in mind! Those who spend their wealth in good works and lend to Allaah Almighty a goodly loan on the hope of His reward, it will be doubled for them, and they will have a noble reward.
