Don’t be proud (L-3197)
|
وَٱللَّهُ لَا يُحِبُّ كُلَّ مُخْتَالٍ فَخُورٍ 23b ٱلَّذِينَ يَبْخَلُونَ وَيَأْمُرُونَ ٱلنَّاسَ بِٱلْبُخْلِ وَمَن يَتَوَلَّ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ هُوَ ٱلْغَنِىُّ ٱلْحَمِيدُ 24 لَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا رُسُلَنَا بِٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ وَأَنزَلْنَا مَعَهُمُ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ وَٱلْمِيزَانَ لِيَقُومَ ٱلنَّاسُ بِٱلْقِسْطِ 25a |

23b. Wallaahu laa yuhibbu kulla mukhtaalin- fakhuur. 24. ‘Allaziina yab-khaluuna wa ya’-muruunan-naasa bil-bukhl. Wa many-yatawalla fa-‘innAllaaha Huwal-Ghaniyyul-Hamiid. 25a. Laqad
‘arsalNaa RusulaNaa bil-Bayyinaati wa
‘anzalNaa ma-'ahumul-Kitaaba wal-Miizaana li-yaquuman-naasu bil-qist. |

23b. Allah loves not all prideful boasters, 24. Who
hoard and who enjoin upon the people avarice. And whosoever turns away, still
Allah is the Absolute, the Owner of Praise. 25a. We
verily sent Our messengers with clear proofs, and revealed with them the
Scripture and the Balance; that mankind may observe right measure; |
It is commanded: Allaah Almighty does not like any such person who is self-deluded on his wealth and property; and who is boastful before the people. Those are the people who are stingy themselves and enjoin upon others stinginess too. Usually they say: Save your money, it is not for spending lavishly.
After that it is commanded: We have informed
that you must spend wealth in the Way of Allaah Almighty as He has
directed, if you have. If now someone turns away, he will lose something of his
own. Allaah Almighty is the Free of need and the Praiseworthy. If you
will spend something, will be beneficial for yourselves, for which Allaah
Almighty has promised with the generous. Allaah Almighty commands: We
have already made arrangement for guidance of human beings. Accordingly, We
sent Our messengers (peace be upon them) with clear evidences and sent down
with them the Scripture and the balance and made Laws, so that the people
should refrain from violence and abuse, and that they may maintain their
affairs in justice.
