1. Ha,
Meem. 2. A
revelation from the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. 3. A
Scripture whose Verses are detailed, a Quran in Arabic for people who know. 4.
Bringing good news, and giving warnings. But most of them turn away, so they
do not listen. 5. And they say, “Our hearts are screened from what you call us
to, and in our ears is deafness, and between us and you is a barrier. So do
what you want, and so will we.” |
Waqrun – (burden), here it aims “deafness”.
‘Akinnatun – (coverings, screened), this word is plural of kinaanun which means “a sheath”.
It is commanded: This Guide Book i.e. Holy Qur’an is sent by Merciful God Whose mercy is common for all and form of that mercy has been revealed particularly in sending down this Guide Book for human beings. This is a Scripture for reciting by everyone in Arabic language. Its verses are open and clear for understanding with regard to words and their meanings. Those will reap full advantage who will recite it with understanding. There are glad tidings and warnings for all kinds of people in it. But alas! Most of them do not pay attention, even sometimes they deny from hearing it and say: Our hearts are within coverings from that to which you invite us, and in our ears is deafness, and between us and you is a partition, so mind your own business; we do our work.
