1. By
the morning hours 2. And by the
night when it is stillest, 3. Your
Lord has not forsaken you nor does He hate you, 4. And verily the latter portion will
be better for you than the former, 5. And
verily your Lord will give unto you so that you wilt be content. 6. Did He not find you an orphan and
protect (you)? 7. Did He not find
you wandering and direct (you)? 8. Did
He not find you destitute and enrich (you)? |
It is commanded: Behold the middle hour between sunrise and meridian when the sun shines brightly; and the night when it spreads over and covers everything with darkness. All these are changing conditions of the world, which come and go one after one. The actual thing does not change by them. O Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him): If no revelation has come to you for a few days, that is a temporary thing. It does not mean that your Lord has withdrawn His special attention from you and He has become displeased from you.
O Our Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him):
It is beyond question that the Hereafter is
better for you than the life of this world. And your Lord will give you so much
from the treasures of His Mercy that you will be satisfied. Remember Our
previous favors upon you when you were orphan. We arranged to nourish and
protect you. At first your grandfather, named Abdul Mutlib and then
after him your uncle, named Abu Talib supported you. After that, when
you reached Madinah, the people of that Township became your aiders and
supporters. We did not let you wander in confusion but saved you from useless
works and guided you towards the Straight Path. When We found you poor, We made
you self-sufficient by means of your first wife Khadijah (May Allaah
be pleased with her). After observing all such favors, who can say that
your Lord will leave you in future?
