Quran Chapters 91 & 92: Summary/Introduction

Quran Chapter 91 & 92: Summary/Intro (Pt-30, Stg-7) درس قرآن

Example of the folk of Thamud (L-3467)

The people of the folk of Thamud rebelled and disobeyed the Sayings of their Prophet Salih (peace be upon him). For their trial, Allaah Almighty sent a she-camel, which was brought out from the hill on demand of their great people. Its story has passed in Chapters “’A’-raaf and Shu-‘araaa’”. Prophet Salih (peace be upon him) instructed to the people of his folk: Guard the she-camel and let her drink water on every alternate day. On the day of her drinking, you must not let drink any of your cattle. It was very troublesome for the rich people of Thamud. At last a man from them, named Qazaar bin Salif stood up, hamstrung the she-camel and killed her. So Allaah Almighty doomed the entire folk with earthquake and thunder due to punishment of their disobedience. When Allaah Almighty desires to punish, He does not fear from it that the people will oppose Him and the mutiny will spread, because there is none Almighty save Him.

Chapter  “LAYL” – (The Night) – 92  - Introduction

According to order, this is Ninety Second Chapter of Holy Qur’an, which was revealed during first days of Islam in Makkah. In this Chapter, it has been described shortly and obviously that intentions, thoughts and works of human beings are different from one another, and their results also come out different for everyone. It has been explained that as there are different circumstances and conditions in the world, like this, efforts of the human beings are also different. Allaah Almighty will ease the way which the mankind will choose. If one will choose righteous path, it will become easier for him to go straight. But if one will choose the path of depravity, Allaah Almighty will let him go astray without hindrance. The end of the first person will be good, but the second person will be punished. Spending wealth generously on good works, avoiding wrong deeds due to fear of Allaah Almighty, having belief in it that the verses of Holy Qur’an are true and admitting its Commandments unhesitatingly, all such are signs of right path. Those who do these works are the righteous.

Contrary to them, those who are stingy, careless from the Commandments of Holy Qur’an, who neglect the Heaven and the Hell, consider that good works and good habits are only self-made things and say that these are fabricated by some people. These are signs of bad path. Those who do wrong are astray. They will be entangled in difficulties and their abode will be Hell. But those who do righteous works; will dwell in comfortable place i.e. their abode will be Paradise. Being proud of own wealth and property is useless. It will be beneficial only for them who will spend only for getting pleasure of Allaah Almighty without boasting of favours conferred. Such people will dwell in the Garden happily and remaining people in the Hell.
