1. Say:
O disbelievers! 2. I worship not
that which you worship; 3. Nor
worship you that which I worship. 4. And
I shall not worship that which you worship.
5. Nor will you worship that which I worship. 6. Unto you your religion, and unto me
my religion. |
It is commanded: The disbelievers desire to make a mutual agreement with you in connection with the religion and say: We believe in Allaah also, but with the difference that we consider that these idols are our intercessors in the Court of Allaah. So we are ready to worship Allaah too. On the other side, occasionally you too must not feel any distress in adoring our idols.
Say to them: I did never worship and nor can ever worship whatsoever you worship. Moreover, your way of worship is not as of us. You make the circuit of Ka’bah (the Square Building) with naked bodies, clap your hands and make a noise. We comply with respect the worship of Allaah Almighty. How mutual understanding can be possible regarding our religions while our Worshipped is separate from your gods and we do not worship our Lord as you adore your idols?
Therefore, listen to it carefully! Either embrace Islam completely or decide to keep your footing on adoring the idols of your forefathers. Allaah Almighty will judge between you and us on a Day. Till that Day; for you is your religion, and for us is our religion. It is known from this Chapter that there can be no concession with anyone in the matter of the Religion. We cannot go back even one inch from the prescribed way of our religion for the sake of someone else.
According to Qur’anic order, this is
hundred-ninth Chapter. It was revealed during initial days of Islam in Makkah.
