Introduction of “The City” (L-3460)
Chapter “BALAD” – (The City) - 90
According to Qur’anic order, this is Ninetieth Chapter. It was revealed during very early day of Islam in Makkah. It was described in the previous Chapter: You must not be involved every time in the interests and thoughts of the worldly changing circumstances. You should try to arrange your life in all conditions, and adopt such faiths and works; in which there must be for you betterment in this world and in the Hereafter. In this Chapter the way of dwelling together mutually in a Township has been described, because human beings cannot live collectively without making Townships. And collective life is necessary for perfection of mankind’s actual life. Therefore, every citizen should know his duties and rights.
It is commanded: Meditate in the condition of Makkah Township, where O Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him): you have to be living. In the life of Township, the first thing is that every individual should give respect to mutual relationships, and everyone should work hard according to own capability. Every mankind should understand that he is under the control of God’s Divine Power in every respect. He must never boast that he has abundant wealth and that he can spend his wealth as, where and when he desires, and that there is no one who may criticise or question him. The mankind should never forget his Lord Who made his face best, bestowed two eyes, one tongue and two lips, by which his face became very suitable. Moreover, Allaah Almighty bestowed him sense. If he will use it properly, he will be able to know his betterment and badness thoroughly. By this he can understand that what is beneficial for him and what is harmful. Alas! He could neither do great works of the religion, nor cause to release the slaves, nor arrange to fulfil the requirements of the needy, nor save the poor from their troubles, nor provide food for the hungry and the orphans during dearth, nor help the relatives in their difficulties, nor believe in Allaah Almighty and nor say to the people: Don’t be confused in afflictions, have patience, draw attention to Allaah Almighty and be kind for one another mutually.
The people who will perform their duties of the life of
citizenship, believe in Allaah Almighty and do good works for one
another altogether, they will be successful everywhere. It will be better for
them in this world and on the Day of Resurrection. But those who ignore Our
Revelations and falsify them, they are unlucky at both places. Although they
can pass their worldly lives as they wish, but when they will be brought back
to life again after death, will be thrown into the Fire, which will enclose
them from all around.
