Miracles of Nature (L-3452)

وَإِلَى ٱلسَّمَآءِ كَيْفَ رُفِعَتْ 18  وَإِلَى ٱلْجِبَالِ كَيْفَ نُصِبَتْ 19  وَإِلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ كَيْفَ سُطِحَتْ 20  فَذَكِّرْ إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مُذَكِّرٌ 21  لَّسْتَ عَلَيْهِم بِمُصَيْطِرٍ 22  إِلَّا مَن تَوَلَّىٰ وَكَفَرَ 23  فَيُعَذِّبُهُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلْعَذَابَ ٱلْأَكْبَرَ 24  إِنَّ إِلَيْنَآ إِيَابَهُمْ 25  ثُمَّ إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا حِسَابَهُم 26

18.  Wa  ‘ilas-Samaaa-'i  kayfa  rufi-'at.  19.  Wa  ‘ilal-Jibaali  kayfa  nusibat.  20.  Wa  ‘ilal- ‘arzi  kayfa  suti-hat.  21.  Fazakkir  ‘innamaaa  ‘anta  Muzakkir.  22.  Lasta  'alayhim  bi-musaytir.  23.  ‘Illaa  man-  tawallaa  wa  kafar.  24.  Fa-yu-'azzibu-hUllaahul-'Azaabal-‘akbar.  25.  ‘Inna  ‘ilaNaaa  ‘iyaabahum.  26.  Summa  ‘inna  'alaNaa  hisaabahum. (Part One-Half) (Section 1/13)

18. And the heaven, how it is raised?  19. And the hills, how they are set up?  20. And the earth, how it is spread?  21. Remind them, for you are but a remembrancer, 22. You are not at all a warder over them.  23. But whoso is averse and disbelieves,  24. Allah will punish him with direst punishment.  25. Lo! Unto Us is their return.  26. And Ours their reckoning.

It is commanded: Human beings do not meditate in manifest things of the universe; otherwise they would have some idea of God's Divine Power and believed in the Day of Resurrection. First of all, the creation of the camel discloses the Omnipotence and Wisdom of Allaah almighty. Secondly, if we see the sky spread over our heads, it is also a Sign of His Divine Power that it is visible apparently spreading without any support over head. Thirdly, we look high and firm mountains - how they are erected, and the earth – how plainly it is spread out?

If the people meditate in all such things, they can know the Omnipotence of Allaah almighty and believe in those things which are being described to them as – the Day of Resurrection, the Heaven and the Hell etc. However, O Our Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him): Your responsibility is only to recite the verses of Qur’an before the human beings and explain its Commandments clearly. You are not appointed over them a controller; to compel them for adopting the right path. However, if they turn away, deny and disbelieve, then you must leave their affair on Allaah. He will punish them with the greatest punishment. It is a fact that they all will return to Us after death. Then indeed, upon Us is their account and We shall give them reward or punishment according to their worldly deeds.
