Obedience of Allah in all affairs (L-3494)
Chapter “KAWSAR” (Abundance) - 108
‘A-‘uu-zu Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in Allaah
from Satan the outcast)
Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.
(In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

إِنَّآ أَعْطَيْنَٰكَ ٱلْكَوْثَرَ 1 فَصَلِّ لِرَبِّكَ وَٱنْحَرْ 2 إِنَّ شَانِئَكَ هُوَ ٱلْأَبْتَرُ 3 |

‘a'-tayNaa kal-KAWSAR. 2. Fa-salli
li-Rabbika wanhar. 3.
‘Inna shaani-'aka huwal-‘abtar. (Section
1/33)

1. Lo!
We have given you Abundance; 2. So
pray unto your Lord, and sacrifice. 3. Lo!
it is your insulter (and not you) who is without posterity. |
‘Abtar – (cut off, without posterity), it aims the man who does not have sons. When elder son {Qasim (May Allaah be pleased with him)} of the Messenger of Allaah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) died, then his enemies in Makkah were very happy, who began to say: Now Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) can do in his life whatever he desires to do. After him there will be no one from his posterity who may promote his work. According to them such person was called “’Abtar” (without posterity).
In this Chapter, the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) is being consoled: A collection of entire excellences is this Noble Qur’an, which We have bestowed to you O Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him). The person, who will reap advantage from it in this world, will be provided water for drinking on the Day of Resurrection from “The Reservoir of Kawsar”. Other entire people will remain thirsty. Let them say who say to you “without posterity”. They themselves deserve this title. You must not care but pray to your Lord wholeheartedly, sacrifice yourself and your wealth in His Way as these idolaters adore their idols and sacrifice their cattle for their self-made gods. You will be renowned not only in this world but in the Hereafter too, and your enemies will be cut off.
This is hundred-eighth Chapter of Holy Qur’an
according to order. It was revealed in Makkah during primary days of
Islam.
