What will happen on the Day of Resurrection? (L-3450)

Chapter “GAASHIYAH” – (The Overwhelming) - 88

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.

 (I seek refuge in Allaah from Satan the outcast)
Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.
(In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful) 

هَلْ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ ٱلْغَٰشِيَةِ 1  وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ خَٰشِعَةٌ 2  عَامِلَةٌ نَّاصِبَةٌ 3  تَصْلَىٰ نَارًا حَامِيَةً 4  تُسْقَىٰ مِنْ عَيْنٍ ءَانِيَةٍ 5  لَّيْسَ لَهُمْ طَعَامٌ إِلَّا مِن ضَرِيعٍ 6  لَّا يُسْمِنُ وَلَا يُغْنِى مِن جُوعٍ 7  وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ نَّاعِمَةٌ 8  لِّسَعْيِهَا رَاضِيَةٌ 9

1.  Hal  ‘ataaka  hadiisul-GAASHIYAH.  2.  WujUUhuny-Yawma- 'izin  khaashi-'ah.  3.  'Aamilatun-naasibah.  4.  Taslaa  Naaran  haamiyah.  5.  Tusqaa  min  'aynin-‘aaniyah.  6.  Laysa  lahum  ta-'aamun  ‘illaa  min  Zarii'.  7.  Laa  yusminu  wa  laa yugnii  min  juu'.  8.  Wujuuhuny-Yawma-'izin-  naa-'imah.  9.  Li-sa'-yihaa  raaziyah.

1. Has there come unto you tidings of the Overwhelming?  2. On that day (many) faces will be downcast,  3. Toiling, weary,  4. Scorched by burning fire,  5. Drinking from a boiling spring,  6. No food for them save bitter thorn-fruit  7. Which does not nourish nor release from hunger.  8. In that day other faces will be calm,  9. Glad for their effort past,

It is commanded: Have you heard the report of such calamity from anyone which will come and overwhelm the entire world? Listen! That will be the Day of Resurrection, hardships and troubles of which you can't fathom here. On that Day, faces of some people will be as of very tired, working hard and exhausted people. They will be humiliated. These are the people who will enter the Hell to burn in an intensely hot Fire. When they will be thirsty, will be given drink from a boiling spring. For them there will be no food except from a poisonous, thorny plant, which neither will nourish and nor avail against hunger. On the other side, on that Day, there will be such people who will show pleasure because they did righteous works in the world with effort for the sake of Allaah Almighty. After looking the result of own deeds, they will be satisfied.
