1. When
Allah's succour and the triumph comes 2. And
you see mankind entering the religion of Allah in troops, 3. Then hymn
the praises of your Lord, and seek forgiveness of Him. Lo! He is ever ready
to show mercy. |
It is commanded: When you have gotten victory on your entire enemies with the help of Allaah Almighty and conquered Makkah, by which the people of entire Arab have considered that Islam has won and the enemies have been defeated, the people from all around have been coming in crowds to embrace Islam (the Religion of Allaah Almighty), then the aim of sending the last Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) has been fulfilled. Strong foundation of mankind’s organisation has been established along with The Divine Caliphate in the world by means of the last Messenger.
Now you must establish worship of your Lord, be grateful to Him, believe and say by your tongue that Allaah Almighty is Pure from all kinds of defects and shortcomings, mention His excellences, ask forgiveness of Him because He is your Lord and Protector, whereas you are His most obedient servant, and pay your full attention towards Him wholeheartedly instead of inclining to any other. You must not have any hearty relationship with someone else except Him. He is the Acceptor of Repentance. He inclines and bestows to such person immediately and forgives who bows down to Him as His slave.
This Chapter was revealed at the last leg of life and the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) understood that his worldly work is over and now he has to depart for the Hereafter.
This is hundred-tenth Chapter according to Qur’anic
order, which was revealed in Madinah during 10th year AH at
the occasion of “The Farewell Pilgrimage” (حِجَّة ٱلْوَدَاع: Ḥijjatu Al-Wadaaʿ). It refers to the one
Hajj (pilgrimage) that Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and
peace be upon him) performed in the Islamic year
10 AH. At that time, entire Arab was under the jurisdiction of Muslims and the people
from all around were coming for embracing Islam. As soon as Abu Bakr
(May Allaah be pleased with him) heard this Chapter, he understood
immediately and began to weep that the Messenger (grace, glory,
blessings and peace be upon him) would remain no more among them, but would be
called back, because the work of preaching for Islam by him was over.
