Chapter “TAKAASUR” (Rivalry in World Increase) - 102
‘A-‘uu-zu Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in Allaah
from Satan the outcast)
Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.
(In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful)
|
أَلْهَىٰكُمُ ٱلتَّكَاثُرُ 1 حَتَّىٰ زُرْتُمُ ٱلْمَقَابِرَ 2 كَلَّا سَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ 3 ثُمَّ كَلَّا سَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ 4 كَلَّا لَوْ تَعْلَمُونَ عِلْمَ ٱلْيَقِينِ 5 لَتَرَوُنَّ ٱلْجَحِيمَ 6 ثُمَّ لَتَرَوُنَّهَا عَيْنَ ٱلْيَقِينِ 7 ثُمَّ لَتُسْـَٔلُنَّ يَوْمَئِذٍ عَنِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ 8 |

1. ‘Al-haakumut-TAKAASURU. 2.
Hatta zurtumul-maqaabir. 3.
Kallaa sawfa ta'-lamuun.
4. Summa kallaa
sawfa ta'-lamuun. 5.
Kallaa law ta'-lamuuna
'ilmal-yaqiin. 6. Latara-wun-nal-Jahiim. 7.
Summa latara wunnahaa
'aynal- yaqiin. 8. Summa latus-‘alunna Yawma-‘izin
'anin-na-'iim. (Section 1/27)

1. Rivalry
in worldly increase distracts you 2. Until
you come to the graves. 3. Nay,
but you will come to know! 4. Nay,
but you will come to know! 5. Nay,
would that you knew (now) with a sure knowledge! 6. For you will behold hell-fire. 7. Aye, you will behold it with sure
vision. 8. Then, on that day, you
will be asked concerning pleasure. |
It is commanded: Trying to collect abundant wealth, to acquire superiority in worldly things and to have more sons - have entangled you in the world. And you have become careless from the Day of Resurrection, even that you die and reach your graves. In the graveyard too you think that whose graves are more than others. This all is entirely negligence and forgetfulness. Beware! You must never think that the life of this world is the only life. You will come to know very soon that the actual thing is the Day of Judgment. Would that you had believed in that Day, otherwise punishment of such negligence is abode in the Hell, which you will see immediately after death. Then on the Day of Resurrection it will be asked from you: Why did you destroy the worldly blessings in carelessness? Why did you not try to please your Lord, the Real Benefactor by using those blessings?
This is one hundred second Chapter of Holy Qur’an
according to order. It was revealed during initial days of Islam in Makkah.
In those days, the people of Arab had been divided in different tribes. People
of every tribe were desirous that they must have more wealth, honor and renown
than all other tribes, even they wished to show more manpower strength than
others. Being involved in worldly disputes, they had forgotten their Lord and
the Hereafter. They are being scolded on it that they try their best whole life
to become richer than others, even that the death comes and they reach their
graves. Moreover they begin to count their graves for showing that their
manpower strength is more than other tribes and that their dead bodies are also
more than them. They will come to know very soon that excess of wealth,
children, relatives and companions are useless.
